Until Contador proves himself a worth adversary, and in today's currency, that is 7 TDF wins! He can 'shut the f*** up".

Walk the walk, and ride the ride. I'd say between Johann and Lance, they'd be around 50 million US in the bank, Alberto... How much in your's?

I don't follow. Could you elaborate?

Are you saying that Contador, without 7 TdF wins, is not a worthy adversary on the road? That doesn't seem to add up to me.

Armstrong's 7 TdF wins, or Contador's 4 GT wins, aren't going to help them climb or time trial faster.

No need, though, to elaborate on the bank account argument. It's pretty meaningless for me.

I spy....

Yes-indeedy-do ! :p

Do they get the same $15 a post that demandmedia pays its 'writers' ? I'd say that is fair pay and I would like in on some-a-dat. Any less than $10/post and it's hardly worth the effort.

Sad part is he prolly posts this tripe for free. Not worth responding directly. Not even close.

Is that you Carboncrank/whatever name you happen to use?

You are misspelling Johann again, as usual.

Ignored.

Nice catch. Looks like the fat guy from Ohio strikes again.

He's learnt to shut Lance up. Any word from South Africa boy?

I'm starting to get the feeling LA isn't too serious about this season. WTF is he doing in South Africa? I guess we'll see when the classics roll around how his form is.

Raising cancer awareness and enhancing his personal bank account. And according to his tweets, getting some training miles. Word is he's looking for a rematch with that cow!

Oh, I would to if I could get away with it at work, was in no way meant as a criticism. In facet if there was a day where you could only post drunk that would be an interesting forum experiment

More drunk posting should be encouraged. Whenever I get on the turps, the first thing I do is fire up the computer and post away. It's pretty sad though.

This.

edit: although hilarity does ensue.

I reckon Contador is a pretty lightweight drinker. (included for thread relevance) My money would be on a Graeme Brown/Allan Davis double team as one of the heaviest hitting in the peloton. Those two vs. the hardened alcoholics Wigans/Millar would be a contest with far more at stake than any LA/AC whining

Yeah former u23 World Champ, notorious p-iss head, who went he turned pro for Quick Step was touted as a guy who would win the Tour one day if he pulled his head in. His trainer described him as much stronger then Yaroslav Popovych. Rates himself as a womanizer, saying how he had at least half a dozen girl friends.

I'm surprised Wigans hasn't gotten him a contract at Sky, as he could do with a good drinking buddy (not sure what Wigans' Ukrainian or Italian is like though).

If we can welcome new posters more easily and all members can solely critique the message and avoid attacking the messenger, maybe by the time the season heads down to Geelong this can be a really thriving community that has hundreds of active posters rather than a couple of dozen.

There has been talk on these boards of how to get more people interested in the sport so how about encouraging them to learn not slamming them for their ignorance? Ad Hominem is never welcome, wherever it comes from.

[/RANT]

You may be right, but I would just point out the viciousness that occurs in just about any 'major' sports forum such as (American) football. They don't give no stinkin' 50 post break-in period to newbies! :) More like 2.

And it's much more personal, vicious, vulgar and profane than what we get here on a bad day.
