30K to go... looks like Cavagna has this in the bag. Unless those time indications are way off again.

Peloton is clearly in no hurry to drag him back. This looks like it's his.

WTF?! Are his brakes gone? That's twice he almost crashed.

Either that or he is simply misjudging the turns with astonishing regularity. He should be out of trouble at this point, though.

Well, maybe the road surface shouldn't be so good... no potholes to keep him awake.

What a crap stage. I guess it shouldn't come as a shock after yesterday's stage which was really good.

Geschke and King blasted through those corners without issue. Maybe he does need something to jar him awake

Unfortunately, he couldn't sit on their wheels.

Excellent ride by Cavagna.
The way Geschke and King passed Hoehn tells how much energy a solo ride requires.

What kind of rider is Asgreen?

Apparently the new Kwiatkowski - who knew? :)
He is a mix between Kwiatek and Moscon.

Edit:
Let's open the "The official Asgreen is the new mix between Kwiatkowski and Moscon thread" thread?

Why are people surprised Asgreen is doing well here. He is either competing against lesser riders or riders out of form and building up towards the TdF and such.

He is a mix between Kwiatek and Moscon.

Sure, but to even speak of him in those terms, is a crazy fast development.

Up until a year ago, he was a continental rider - not pro-conti - just conti, and was mostly thought of as a talented TT rider

Why do you think his race schedule is different to theirs? - No reason DQ would not bring him to the tour, as he can be used in almost all terrains.
I doubt he's going to the tour. But even then, he still is competing against a relatively weak field.

Weak field compared to the most important races yes. But there are plenty of good/great riders and teams competing here.

Of course just after Cavagna wins the stage NBCSports switches over to hockey pre-game stuff and tells you you can watch the end on NBC Gold which is pay only. Had to go find the European feed to watch the end of the frelling stage.

The irony of having to look for an (illegal?) Euro stream to watch a US race :(

Exactly! Unfortunately that's NBC for you. They love leaving a live cycling race for pre game or pre race (NASCAR) stuff.

Sagan is still in bad shape or has completed his morphing into a pure sprinter?
Today even Oss and his brother abandoned him and finished in the main group while he was with Cavendish minutes and minutes down, that's really bad even for the recent years heavy version of Sagan.
