Remco just said on Belgian tv that he lost a lot of energy due to the crash and 30 kms chasing to get back into the bunch. He feels that he could have won the race without that, or if he started the sprint just a little later.
From Procyclingstats it seemed it took litle time for him to get back in the peloton. Anyway crashing is never good

Maybe He is counting the kilometers when he pulled the peloton!
Pretty much. Can't blame him either, the lack of pull through was funny ... you would think nearly everyone else had a teammate up the road. I mean, I have been in races when this happens, and it is either really funny or really frustrating. Best if you think it funny and just do your own race, especially if you can TT

Danish guys will be again a nightmare for Pogacar this year.

I think PCS was quite late with mentioning the crash. Information seemed rather low before broadcasting. Based on the several pictures it indeed took a while to get back.

He said it happened before the Gulperberg (so 112,9km from the finish), Narvaez was the one who crashed and his bike took out Remco.

Definitively possible.

Man, he is not the best bike handler in the field but he is also seriously unlucky

Great race, great finish, fun to see people trying to animate things like Alaphilippe, had a real punchy attack and his legs blew up at the top of the hill, Pogacar rode a awesome, race Remco raced really smart and his chase was fantastic.. Was surprised by second group was 34 seconds back, they looked closer..Michael Matthews still has gas in the tank for an old guy! Exciting sprint! Worth waking up really early!!
When Mattias Skjelmose almost cracked when he dedicated his win to his recently passed grandfather I almost lost it as well, great ride from him and all his jumping paid off when Remco joined him!! After the catch the 3 worked well together, impressive!!

For all those that claim this is a boring era, this classics season has been great.

Incredible turnaround, this time Pogačar attacked too early and got caught and beaten but man what a win for Skjelmose, he had the guts to go on the attsck after Pogačar and then worked very well with Remco to caught him and then used his sprint to take the win. Lidl-Trek will be in a great position for Flèche with him and Nys as two of the big favourites and Skjelmose is also an outsider for Liège.

Pogačar showed that he is human today, great so many classics in sequence is not easy and I think today he paid for all his efforts especially Roubaix. However I still think he has a good chance of winning Liège especially if he sits out of Flèche.

Remco showing that he is already in great shape, the crash didn't help as well as starting his sprint a bit too early but he is in great shape for Liège which suits him better than Flèche.

Van Aert once again fourth. Good result for such a hard race and at least this time he won the sprint.

he always has an excuse
Yeah, but I think in this case he was right about starting his sprint too late. The whole run in I was shouting in my head..."Remco, do NOT lead them out!"

As for the chase after the crash, eh, that's to be expected in a long classic.

Skelmose was equally as strong as Remco in my mind but raced smart.

Pog's running out of gas on this run of top form. That's great for the sport; hoping LBL is a real dogfight among 10-12 riders.
