Probably for instance there are some old TV shows where bands of the time were shown and of course if you choose higher resolution on say YouTube the original broadcast of course would have been recorded in the native TV standard of the time. I think that is what we are seeing here the recording was done at a lower resolution which I expect you were referring to.
