I'm not jumping on the train just yet. He's obviously talented and may be a top sprinter in the future, but it's not as if he's sprinting against any top guys and top sprint trains there. And Langkawi's sprints have been dominated by several guys in the past who didn't wind up becoming stars (Loddo, G Brown, Gavazzi...)

I guess I just want to see him up against the big boys first

Watched the stage now - pretty disappointed following the usual hype in the stage thread.

Very much a case of Cav having a terrible day rather than Guardini doing anything impressive - amazed it prompted suggestions his top speed is amazing (it is, but he didn't show that today).

Relative to the other non-cav sprinters it was a performance no better than several of his other wins, the general level of competition was very low. I would normally expect Andrea to put a bigger gap in to Ferrari and the other z listers.

Cav just tanked horribly and never got going properly, and people then focus on that headline.

Still, great win, glad I was in there at the start.

I really didn't expect him to even survive until this point, let alone pick up a stage. Perhaps a couple of weeks racing has done him the world of good.

It was his first GT though the mountains would have taken a toll on him compared to Ferrari, so of course his acceleration would not have been as good.

In cycling, I would take a 50% win rate every single time.

I will give credit to Guardini, he hit the sprint perfect and completely smoke Ferrari (who had Cavs wheel and couldn't get around him), Cav and anybody else in that sprint.

His explosive burst of speed was impressive, and when a guy has momentum and power like that at the end, good luck beating him.
