Talansky is an interesting rider.

His career path to me seems to have a more realistic trajectory.

If we're saying he's one of the more believable guys, wouldn't that mean a lot with a guy who has top 10s in 2 GTs and who's very competitive in other big stage races?

Or do people not believe in him.

Genuinely asking, what's opinions on him?

He's impressing in the Dauphine once again this week.

None of his performances have ever struck me as suspicious, but there's something about him that doesn't rub me the right way. It's probably his defense of Armstrong and his "win at all costs" mentality.

So, while I have no particular reason to believe he's dirty, it wouldn't really surprise me if he was.

This for me.

I always find it funny when 'clean' cyclists defend certain dopers.

I don't believe in this guy,he's reaction against di Luca was a little off since he's riding along D.Millar,Tommy D,T.Dekker,R.Hesjedal.

His past comments probably have more to do with growing up in the "cycling is cleaner" family, and not knowing anything else. Like a sheltered child out in the world.

Naive, but too cocky to realize it.

I put him in the "not good enough to be suspicious," category, but that doesn't mean I think its impossible for him to be doping. Its as possible for riders to go from donkey to wagon-puller-horse as it is to go from donkey to racehorse.

Is that the one where JV tells you the brutal, God's honest truth the day you join the team?

Don't see anything overtly suspicious about his performances. Would like to think he's clean. His comments about Armstrong are flat out idiotic or omerta-driven. Don't know which, but really, really bad.

His comments RE: Di Luca are either naive or omerta-driven. Not sure which. I find them more reasonable than the comments RE: Armstrong.

I don't tend to think of someone's comments as a primary driver of suspicion, though they do round out an overall view of a rider. I tend to look at performance, then team and doctor associations. From that perspective he could very well be clean, and I again hope that he is.

At least he shows the progression of a believable rider.

Agree on your opinion of his doped generation observations.
His progression of results from Junior to today is totally believable. To take his youthful defense of scumbags as an indictment of his actual performance would be a mistake.

An interview that feels a little like a Chris Froome biography. The bank of Mom and Dad must have funded his bouncing around the U.S. racing bikes for a while.

I never found a "part 2."

The fact that VN is gushing over him and dropping the "cleanest peloton ever" is sufficient evidence to be wary of his performances. I'm personally troubled by his finding a "second speed" on the WT and the tight relationship with Thom Wiesel's org. But, I'm just some anonymous w@nker.

His USA Cycling results are not great. He looks like a good rider but not a great rider.

Hence the mention of discovering a "second speed." And since we're talking about USA Cycling, if they like him and it seems they do, he's never tested positive.

Does that mean he's doping? <shrug>

Have never spoken with him, but what he did on 5-6-10 at the Joe Martin TT showed the kid had phenomenal talent.

Why do you guys think anyone is clean? Why because you want to believe or just neive? I'm not tying to be a smart *** but seriously! It's a professional sport, big money, the riders are just race cars they are all souped up I feel

I think you'll find that most of the people on this forum believe the peloton to mostly be not clean.

And that there is practically no one that would say for sure they know a certain rider is clean (except Ryo that is :p).

That's what I'm trying to understand, all the cleanish riders that get mentioned, is there really such a thing Sir? As a cleanish rider or team? Cleanish is as guilty as a team or rider going " full ***" dirty is dirty and there are some very intelligent posters here that use cleanish as that rider is morally above the rest.

A punk without any manners, throwing F word towards Jim Ochowicz's daughter in one of the race.

Performance wise, really good in a week long tour. But nothing stands out in a three week race. So I think he is clean.
