Tomorrow, Andy Schleck will drop with 5km to go, and he'll finish on an astonishing 26th place at 1.44 from stagewinner Fedrigo to secure his first top 30 finish in a stage race for a long time:cool:

i wouldn't mind that. Anything less than 5 minutes from the winner is ok.

So now both the Contador discussion thread and Schleck discussion thread have deteriorated into two seperate LaFlorecita discussion threads. Great.

Meltdown....

You are right, I should've answered serfla's question via PM. I'm sorry.

Yea it looks okay, but he's in a corner and I don't know how that influences his position

I meant more his general attitude rather than the aero position. He looks focused and not about to cry like he sometimes looks during TTs...

Don't worry about Andy. In July he'll single-handedly destroy the Sky train. He may not survive, but will be forever remembered by cycling fans for his heroic deed.

Hoping for a stronger ride from Andy on this MTF. Would make for a more interesting TDF if he can rediscover his old form.

It's good to see Andy seems to be improving, now if he can just get all the way through the race it will restore some of the faith in him that I've lost. :)

By the way, I thought this was a pretty good article on Schleck. If Lemond was able to make it back after going through what he went through, then I think we could definitely see Andy back at his best. I just hope he is improving mentally and he has the motivation.

What's the story behind your new avatar and signature, Flo?

She is being a petulant child because we called her out for badmouthing The Great One.

Andy is NO LeMond!!!!! Either on or off the bike.

Tomorrow we see if he can finish a 2 day race. Then onwards and upwards, hopefully, for him.

No he isn't, not saying he is. But Lemond went through a lot worse than Andy and still managed to come back. So if he made it through all that he did, then so can Andy make it through what he's going through. Just as long as he has the motivation to do so.

As you say, onwards and upwards. :)

you forgot something. Lemond doesn't have Andy's mentality:D. Andy will be OK comes July, but I don't believe he will be in contention. He just doesn't have the fire like Bertie, to get better. With his rate, he'll be ready for 2014 for sure. The main reason is because the quality of racing right now are so high, and it's not even July yet. How do you think he can compete with sky's train? And a twisted technical descent?

Bookies have paired Andy with a neo-pro from La Pomme Marseille Team and iit is a close call for the overall in the Criterium!
The neo-pro beat Andy by 17 minutes on the GC.

Positive reactions from Leopard after today's stage.
Andy noted he lacks the power in his legs, but I'd say it's endurance rather than power.
Anyway, racing kilometers should solve the problem.

LBL still looks out of his reach, but he might be ready for racing at the Tour, judging by optimism in Leopard.
... Racing in the mountains, that is, time trialing will stay as it was.

It's very unlikely Andy will be able to hold on to the Sky train in the Tour. He'd have to improve at a miraculous rate.

Prior to his injury, Andy use to go from autobus fodder to Tour contender in a couple of months, so if he can stay healthy and build his form, I think he will be able to ride comfortably with the SKYborg.

Only the SKYborg look comfortable with the SKYborg. But if Andy is going bad, how do we rate Evan's form ? What do they feed Kyrienka ?
