I can't remember a GT where Frankie was not strongest on the first mountainstage and then faded as the GT went on.

Good ride again from Frank. Without those big time losses on the cobbles he would be easily inside the top ten.

It's been a good comeback overall since his suspension; I wasn't sure if he could recapture this level at his age. It's obvious now that he should put all of his eggs in the Giro basket next year - hold onto this form on a time trial light course and if most of the big guns go to the Tour - as even a podium is an outside possibility.

But since he's a Schleck then I doubt he'll do that.

Was funny to see that old bag of bones mixing it up in a group with Tejay, Pinot and Bardet! Don't write him off just yet :D

Wow, 3 years since stage 18. No matter how his career will end, that day will always be remembered. Yeah, people (me included) often make fun of his descending skills an his work ethic but that day he showed guts and made history.

One of the best performances of recent season's, a real epic stage. If only he could get himself back to that place, I doubt he ever will though.

There's no cyclist in the world that deserves it more.

It is not good the way his father talk about retirement if he dont get a World Tour contract, becouse he has difficult to get that now, and more if he hope to ride always beside his brother.

He has a name and a past, he has at least some talent, he has showed he can come back from difficulties, but he will have difficult to get a first division contract. I hope, anyway he can get it, and he didnt mind money...

He should ride on a no salary, get paid on result only contract. Maybe that would motivate him! Meanwhile I hope he has invested wisely because there won't be any big money contacts coming his way.

It looks like Europcar is interested in Andy. It would be a good team for him, and if his brother is not with him, he shouldnt mind.

Anybody knows how progress his recovery?

That's unexpected (similar profile as Roland) especially since Trek wants to keep him apparently (unlike Frank).

According to local newspapers in Luxembourg, Andy gets no contract but Fränk does.

I agree, Rolland is the most Schleck-like rider i could think off. Even his style looks similar. He puts in more attacks, but who says Andy couldn't. :p

I think Europcar would be a great choice.

So, which team next year? I hope he won't quit and goes to CCC or something like that so he can win smaller races again. After all, he hasn't shown much last year but if he wasn't Andy he would still be considered WT worthy.

If you want to ride for GC you have to perform. it would be a huge surprise if he was re-signed by his current team unless it was for a huge pay cut but why would they do that that when young enthusiastic riders are lining up for an opportunity. I think Andy may have moved on with his life and even though his interviews sound positive I can't see him getting back to his previous level. I think there is a good chance he will retire which might be the best thing for him and his family plus he always made it clear he wanted to ride with his brother which seems unlikely now.

Andy becoming a domestique is about as likely as Evans becoming a regular domestique for Contador. Both men are too proud for that even though Evans is currently supporting Sanchez, in probably his last GT anyway.

What's the reason for Andy not being at the Vuelta? I recall he got injured, but then so did Contador and Froome. Was it a season ending injury?

No he is just lazy, Contador had a nastier injury. But you know Andy, only the tour that counts. He can just sit back with his feet on the table and get paid. He is worth as much as Kashechkin now. Both similar types. View it as a hobby..

It was alot worse then Contador. Contador is/was a hairline fracture and a nasty wound, Andys injurie was some real bad internal stuff in his knee. You can go through the thread and find details. :);):p
