Don't let that fool you! It's an indicator he's taking it easy, of course!
Why, we're talking about Andrew here, there's no way he works hard outside of July!

Indicator of what this should have been? :)

If it was anyone else we'd be saying he's coming back from a bad injury and it's gonna take a while to get going again. Patience.

yes, I think Andy will be fine when it matters: LbL and TdF. Not before or after.

Sorry but I thought he was back 3 1/2 months ago at Tour of Beijing, 4 months after an injury whose recovery time was 4-6 weeks.;)

Who on earth do you know that has recovered from a broken pelvis in 4-6 weeks? Superman?

Well, the opinion comes from him and Radioshack's doctor.

Yeah see he probably shouldn't have said that ... just as they shouldn't have announced his comeback for Vuelta, then USA Cycling Challenge, then GP Québec ......

this means absolutely nothing whatsoever , he is not there to be competitive , he is there to rebuild his fitness slowly and gradually .

everything this guy does is tuned around 3 weeks in july where i expect this guy to be back to his peak and we may just see the best TDF ever .

The report says Andy worked on the front a lot.

He came past me several times on the the front of the bunch of four today.

Unfortunately the bunch was the autobus!

At least he was looking forward today when I saw him.

No one expected Andy to be ready and in great form ready to fight for a win at the tour down under. He's just using the race to get back into form (lets not forget he pretty much lost a entire year or racing). Plus he has shown good improvement since the injury and since we last saw him in Beijing. He's been on the front and actually been working hard to stay with the peloton on the hills.

I hope he is working on some recovering therapeutic programme in the race and can not go full throttle so far. So its not so bad.

Come on, the Legend. Breathe optimism into us!

Agreed but I hope LBL is a major objective again this year. I'm just hoping he is going to be more competitive where ever he rides after January. Not holding my breath though.

Well, he could be less laid back.
Looking at results, one might get impression he converted into a sprinter.
Stages are fairly short, the course isn't that demanding, he should be in upper half of rankings if already not in winning groups.
He mentioned in some interview he'll ride races to test himself. Maybe he'll show on Old Willunga Hill... Wishful thinking.

yeah, but you gotta admit it all appears to lack urgency seen from the outside.
It's not urgent yet, obviously.
The response convinced me I should do the same.
Looks comfortable.

Schleck seems like a different person this year judging by the interview. He genuinly wants to win again, and sems to enjoy riding his bike now.

Could it be because Johan is no longer there? Seems the merger of the two teams and Johans management style was the start of his and Frank's problems in 2012.
