Carols said:: He's a DNF???? My goodness; I was even wrong about finishing
He really needs to do something about his chain issues, that problem seems to haunt him

It appears he and his brother have inherited none of their father's cycling nous, as witnessed at Liege a couple of years ago at the hands of Gilbert and at the Tour every year since he started.
In short AS is the epitome of much that is wrong with modern cycling.
You cannot longer say that, so I fixed it for you.gruppeto993 said:a) andy once was one of the two best climbers along with alberto in today's era. Hanging up his wheels isn't going to do the sport any good.

I just like to see the most aggressive and funny riders win. atm amongst the gc riders that is AC so i'll cheer for him. The day he becomes a boring wheelsucker I will start mocking LaFlorecita just as much as anyone else here![]()

Being a fan of a rider doesn't mean it is your favorite rider btw. I am also a fan of Sagan for example but Alberto is my favorite.

ultimobici said:Nefarious connections aside, AC is a far more interesting rider than AS could ever hope to be.
He at least tries to win outside of the Ardennes & Tour, AS can't be arsed to finish anything other than the Tour. Contrast their palmares and one can see that AS simply doesn't try to win anywhere bar France.

airstream said:I personally root for Andy because I'm a romantic and I don't like everything mass, trivial and hackneyed. Andy Schleck has his own vision how he should ride and I appreciate it. In my view, a true fan never supports riders for his palmares primarily. A real fan roots for somebody who fills up his interior with positive things. I'm sure, vast majority of Contador fans (especially young guys or those who got interested year or 2 ago) support him because of titles. They root for him in order to say again and again:'Look! It is my guy. He has more titles than all these dudes taken altogether, but he anyway gets it. And I told you that it would be this way and it happens!" I'm not saying it is wrong. It is probably the opposite thing compared to what I feel. If Andy win the Tour, I won't gloat and brag 'I told you'. It would be taken very calmly. But when someone posts something like 'I hope Nibali [Froome] wins the Tour' and in a few minutes Hitch comes up with notorious 'It is ridiculous. They never beat Contador on the climbs. Could you call me a stage when they beat him? It is delusional', I feel very funny, because belief and support never imply any previous experience and stages when one beat other,
The reason I lambast AS is his attitude to racing in general.LaFlorecita said:wow I actually agreed until you said he should quit. I don't think he should quit, he makes me laughand I kinda feel sorry for him

He only tries in the Ardennes & France. He whines about descents, whines about weather, can't seem to use a front mech and seemingly is incapable of holding his place in the bunch.
I don't expect a rider of his type to be in the mix in Flanders, Roubaix or the like, but to take the approach he has to the season is akin to Man Utd or Chelsea only electing to play the FA Cup & Champions' League & skipping the Premier League altogether.
