Just in case anyone's interested and is annoyed by the Oman twitter feed. Today's breakaway appears to consist of:
55 Joaquin Novoa (Spa) Cervélo Test Team
89 Unknown Katusha rider!
98 Gatis Smukulis (Lat) AG2R La Mondiale
127 Arnoud Van Groen (Ned) Vacansoleil Pro Cycling Team
134 Cyril Lemoine (Fra) Saur - Sojasun
154 Benjamin King (USA) Trek Livestrong

Gap is currently 2m20s with 45km to go (which I guess means that they've got no chance).

Theyre done for.. another sprint, could be interesting, EbH really needs at least one more win from stages 4, or 5 before the time trial..

Not as embarrassing as for Lieuwe Westra from Vacansoleil when he sprinted towards the finish line, one lap short, and celebrates his win in great style somewhat prematurely. Counting to three can be real hard, sometimes.
:D
Play the movie at http://msn.tv2sporten.no/sykkel/boasson-hagen-tok-aarets-foerste-seier-3137616.html and wait until the end, then clicking on the second link from the top with the name Lieuwe Westra in it. :D:D

hahaha, man that is good. poor guy.

Believe it's Danilo Napolitano from Katusha.

The same Ben Swift that rides for Sky?

was facetious

you know, for all the ethics talking points Brailford gives heed to, he likes to grab his riders under contract, Swift and Wigans.

There is a dissonance there Dim, cant you see it. Hayles/Millar apologia. Swift/Wigans contracts.

Leigh Howard of HTC wins ahead of Bennati and Farrar. EBH got caught by the wind and lost 1:05, Bennati is the new leader.

The only place to be, the first group. Thought Sky had learned a lesson about wind in Quatar. Bummer.

EBH lost time in cross winds? Whatever next!!

He really needs to pay more attention and stay at the front at times like these. Pretty basic stuff. Team Sky should be making sure he's up there and protecting him. EBH had a great chance of winning the overall but has now screwed it up.

Good win for Leigh Howard.

Maybe Sky were reliant on Arvesen to keep them right. Farrar maybe isn't in form to win at the moment , but he's pretty dogged. Maybe this year he'll get a stage win before the third GT he rides. But seriously I think he'll have some good restults.

While EBH probably has to take some blame for his failure every time it's windy, I think most of the problem lies within team sky. Doesn't seem like they understand the wind at all. Can't be that hard to get EBH to the front when the wind starts blowing...

Did Cancellara make it home with the main pack? Because I don't think Bennati is going to hold a 16-26 second advantage to Cancellara in the TT. He lost 16 seconds in the 2009 Vuelta to Cancellara over 4,5 km (and 1,12 min over 30 km) and this one is 18,6km.

Well this seems like a bit of a d!ck move by the peloton:

“Sky had the jersey and it was their responsibility to chase the break they had let go. Racing is racing but perhaps it wasn't fair they attacked when Boasson Hagen stopped for a leak."

That's pretty crap and very disapointing. It shows a complete lack of respect. Maybe Sky are the most hated team in the peleton!!

Anyway, what goes around comes around. Whoever was responsible I'm sure it won't be forgotton by the riders for later in the season.

Where was that quote from, and did they say who attacked? someone on twitter said the same thing, but no mention of who instigated it. Garmin perhaps?

"That was a long day. Flew to a stage for the first time ever. And saw the race leader attacked while taking a pee break.

Robbie Hunter is on twitter, not overly unhappy about the misfortunes of sky:
