If he can beat Evans by 1.30 in the exact TT from the dauphine, then he can be beating other top 10 by 3/4mins which is enough to see him into the top 10. He is also in the form of his life and will be able to hang in there on the climbs.

But at the end of the day, if Contador finds his legs (which atm seems like he has no firepower) then I suspect only 3 men can go with him, Sammy Sanchez, Schleck and Basso (if he finds his giro form from last year.)

No way will tony be in the top 10, he cant climb as well as any of the other top 10 guys. He could easily be 15 mins down by the final ITT

Whoever is 9th or 10th by the time trial will be 15minutes down anyway, so Martin will be able to pull some time back.

The dreadful thing about cycling is: no matter how awful things happen, it's still remains exciting to see what will happen next.

Contador (if healthy and doesn't crash again)
A. Schleck
Evans
Kloden
S. Sanchez
Basso
Vande Velde (if healthy)
Danielson
Cunego
Velits

Pretty interchangable. Although TD has 30 seconds over VDV, VDV is a stronger TTer when on form. Contador at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Evans win.

i'm surprised people think kloden is going to even start tomorrow. he didn't look too good getting in that car yesterday on the way to the hospital.

have to wait and see how contador rides tomorrow and through luz ardiden before picking. ditto for gesink.

Surprised that no one thinks Luis Leon Sanchez could finish top 10. Not that i did but ?????

With the time he gained in the break on Stage 9 I won't rule it out. He managed 11th last year without getting in a break...

My picks:

A Schleck
Contador
Basso
F Schleck
Evans
S Sanchez
VDV/Danielson (Whoever Garmin ride for)
Cunego
Gesink (If finishes)/LL Sanchez (If not)
Roche

After the first mountain stage I'll give it another go.

1. Andy Schleck
2. Samuel Sanchez
3. Frank Schleck
4. Ivan Basso
5. Alberto Contador
6. Cadel Evans
7. Damiano Cunego
8. Tom Danielson
9. Peter Velits
10. Arnold Jeanneson

Andy looked quite fine today, and should only get better.
I think the 1-2 attack is going to work very well come the Alps.
I could see Frank allowing Andy to take yellow on Alpe d'Huez for the ITT, as Frank will lose BIG CHUNKS of time in Grenoble, and Andy would benefit from starting last.

Basso and Szmyd looked great today, and they'll be tough to beat.
Sanchez obviously has great form, and I think he's got what it takes to podium and maybe win KOM.

And I mean no disrespect to anyone else's opinion in this next paragraph, as I may be wrong. Here we go:

I'm just not buying the argument that Contador can catch up to the Schlecks. He may be able to keep up with them in the Alps, but I don't really think he can climb past them simply due to the Giro. It's obviously taken its toll. And as we saw last year, if he's not on great form, he's not gonna blow anyone away in the ITT. He only got 31 seconds on Andy last year, and now he's already down 2 minutes to Frank and 1:45 to Andy.

I think Evans is going to rue the lack of a Szmyd, Navarro, Frank in the mountains come Stage 18. He'll crack.

Cunego has looked very good. I'd tip him for Stage 16.
Tommy D is now the Garmin surprise.
Velits would have done much better without his puncture today, and now HTC's "mountain men" can help him 100%

Jeanneson looks good for the White Jersey.
