Most of the rest of the climb is through a tunnel and they wouldn‘t be able to broadcast the KOM fight then.

It looked like Strong was in control, but Pidcock cracked him in the final metres. Making the race longer was a winning strategy.

Granted, his pre-2025 victories were of slightly more impressive calibre.

Have to admit I'm losing track of who's won what when it comes to salmon, Kirby keeps talking about 500kg here, 100kg there, bodyweight, etc. Perhaps the official site should do a table of piscine-related awards and consumption.

From what I understand, it used to be 500kg for winning the KoM, though that ended a few years ago (though Team Rockets managed to bring it back briefly last year).
The 100kg appear to have been for the winner on one particular climb.
Dunno where the meager bodyweight prize comes from...

wenn Eisel won it a couple of years ago, they delivered it to South Africa for a training camp of the team.

...or they bought some salmon over there to have some nice pictures for the sponsor. Who knows, but they got some salmon in the end.

Why would you want to export it to New Zealand? Just eat it, right there, after the race!
