Are RAAM riders tested?

It is for these reasons, among others, I would not do RAAM whether tested or not.

the reason more people have died doing the tour is because its been going on longer and far more athletes take part. Other than a incident last year where a woman was run over by a motorbike, Wasnt the last death at the tour in 95.
