Speaking of which I note that Sprocket has now claimed the moral high ground and labelled you as a cancer lover justly reviled by cancer sufferers everywhere. Good luck with that....

No, the PM said nothing like that about any individual. I better not say anymore about that.

Interestingly enough I just recieved a PM from a beleaguered middle aged housewife with 2 kids and a nasty ex-husband, who would like me to **** her brains out. I wonder which of us is in a better position to do something good for a fellow human being.

yes It´s new i think, I saw that too, but I was more interested in bruyneels comments about Contador.

after all it´s not that surprising.
Cuz when LA made his comeback a fact, he said that he´s coming back to win!
So after that crash, he started to question his chance of winning an 8th TdF.

This is the norm from Bruyneel.

Remember in days gone by:

"Lance didn't want to say anything 'cos he's a humble guy and all but.....

"Lance received death threats"
"Lance was spat at"
"The German fans want to knock Lance off his bike"
"The French fans want to knock Lance off his bilke"
"Everyone wants to knock Lance off his bike"

Bruynnel spits out this rhetoric every year Lance has been riding.... Nothing to see here. Lance was never going to quit... not with the sort of money the Giro organisers were paying him to ride.

April 2009:
"Lance has always said that Alberto Contador is the best stage racer in the world today. I've said it. Levi (Leipheimer) has said it. Lance will not attack Alberto in the mountains. Alberto will be protected the entire race. And Lance will be the man immediately in front of Alberto blocking the wind," said Johan Bruyneel, the team's general manager. "It doesn't get any better than that, having a 7-time Tour champion pulling you up mountains."

It was all Contador's fault.

Well, I guess it depends upon whether or not, at the Tour, you think Contador got what he was promised, back in April.
Yeah right!

To be fair, Alberto did ride on Lance's wheel a lot, but I'm guessing that was more about keeping an eye on an untrustworthy teammate/rival rather than Lance being magnanimous and blocking the wind for AC. I did, however, see Lance block a water bottle from AC, so perhaps that was meant to be supportive.

We've seen this many times now. It's part of Lance's marketing scheme in a sense. He, with great support from JB, and possibly greater support from his fans, attempts to portray himself as the underdog, and inoculate himself from criticism by issuing statements like this.
