"I don't regret what I said because I think that had an impact on the team and they realised how serious the situation was for them," Cookson told the Telegraph newspaper in London after attending the Telegraph Business of Sport conference.

"That caused a pretty major overhaul within Astana of their processes and procedures, and an acceptance that they needed to make that radical overhaul."

Some other teams might need a major radical overhaul
So after the revision of the methods the doping programs improved a lot??

At least Sky looks at the power meter in order to not go over the limit. Landa does not give a ***t!!

That's more believable than Landa. At least Cataldo is living to the expectations to when he was a younger talent.
Suddenly achieving some long-prophetized potential at 30 after many seasons trying is not more believable than doing it at 25. There were also expectations about Landa, after all.

Send the vapires 24/7 after that team. I am sure they will catch someone!!!!
i thnk astana have been told to do whatever they please as long as they stay clear from ferrari, so as to avoid scandals that may scare sponsors and/or ruin television deals.

What a massive clusterfuck of a situation.

Well said...

I'am guessing Cookson is running around the PR office with a red face putting together yet another reactive press release...

What a mess this has been..

Well if he was red faced back in April, how about now? :D How can anyone logically explain the last week, and that is only the B team!

Actually this may not be so far from the truth....

Sharpening the knives on every front related to doping may lead to better results...

I get the impression Astana have had to go from dope on your own (and take the heat yourself) to close team monitoring... This probation/last chance saloon may be contributing to more centralized/controlled and effective doping methods...

Man, these marginal gains are amazing.
I would think it's something else, but as the Sky fans taught us there's no proof so they're clean.

Way to go Astana, using science to improve!

Tiralongo has been a top tier domestique for years. Not suprising that he climbs better than those other breakaway amateurs.
I've been saying for months that Landa would be Arus last man standing, and I've been saying for years that Astana riders are the best riders in the world, so no real suprise there.
Don't trust that Porte guy though.

Yes lol. Usually it's all you say that Astana is the best and any Astana rider is always better then any other.

Now that they got the best program you are right. Oh wait Contador is still in pink...

It's harder to come up with a bigger looking mafioso still in business than Vinokourov. So yeah...

Astana are public enemy number one.

The researchers at the University of Laussane who did the audit just showed them how to achieve those little gains, some call it "marginal", that will enable them to truly shine in a clean peloton.

Yea, he is in pink this first week
For Aru and Landa that is about as serious as having some random dutch guy in pink after a successful breakaway. When mortirolo comes, the true power of Astana will presnt it self.

yes sure, 5 doping cases in last 12 months , Sky fans would tell you Astana are proved dopers. You need to go back to school.

doesn't count. There is no evidence against Aru, Landa or Cataldo.

but strangely all the skyfans seem to still think they are doping.

There is evidence for a team wide program at Astana + the ridiculous Giro performance. To bad italian authorities do not apply their laws , but i guess if Spain covers top athletes (Fuente) then Italy doing the same is no surprise (see also calcio doping, buried).
