Your disinformation campaign is weak. Drip bags, no matter if they are filled with blood or saline, are illegal.

In certain circumstances, but I agree it does look bad for Contador. What was he doing with it? Is he going to say he was dyhydrated?

It looks like Greg LeMond was right about him after all.

It's google-translated. Don't jump to conclusions from a single sentence. If the report actually linked the set to Contador directly the actual human translation would most likely have mentioned it also. Of cause if at least 7 members of the team used I doubt that Contador or Armstrong or exceptions.

ETA: Can one of the French-Speakers on the thread comment on what the French Article actually says on this point?

"formation" means "training" in the most literal translation, but in this context I believe it can also be translated as "team" or "group". I interpret this as meaning that the kits belonged to Contador's team, not him specifically. You are right about not taking automated translations too seriously.

You want a rider?

Wow - another ex-bruyneel rider gets busted doping.

This will go a LONG way explaining why Lance and Johan
were distancing themselves from Alberto.

Silver Lining is that Greg can point to the Verbier Snafu and say -
"Told you so!"

will those DNA samples from the equipment to be matched up against known DNA from the riders, ala Valverde in Puerto? Probably not, Pat will make sure of that somehow..

Of course, another factor here is there is DNA and then there is DNA. You can get fragmentary DNA off anything and everywhere. Something that was thrown in a bag or left on the floor might not be very reliable. It seems if they had hard evidence then they would have produced it by now, so I am doubtful the DNA is of high quality enough to be useful in a court of law.

The more I think about it, the more this just looks like a rehash of the old story. They said they found IV equipment and other stuff with DNA on it when this story was first released a couple of months ago. I doubt anything will come of this.

But the only person fingered at this stage is Contador. They said the transfusion set belonged to the winner. Unless the translation is wrong.

It's a terrible blow for the Contador and the Tour that another winner has been caught up in a doping scam.

What part of "seven genetic profiles of different people" do you not understand? There is nothing in the article that singles out a sole rider. There is nothing in the article that signals out Contador.

Thanks, I thought it was something like that.

Are you getting your disinformation straight from RadioShack or are you just making it up yourself?

can someone explain how it is illegal under Wada restrictions.

I am curious how they would sidestep this issue?

7 people broke the rules?

Correct. The original said "la formation du vainqueur du Tour" They are referring to the team of the Tour winner.

This is going to play out this way most likely: Levi not one of them because he withdrew, and Lance keeps his drugs to himself and separate from everyone else in the team. Everyone else is busted. I will say that I saw part of his interview last night on Conan, and he looked rough. I thought maybe he was sick. Maybe he knew what was coming and his DNA is there. I am betting it isn't, but if so, it will be a great day for cycling. Regardless, if The Hog doesn't get taken down too, then I may actually quit watching the sport in all honesty. How can you blame the body of the snake for biting, and absolve the head?

But like I said, what does that mean? Is it the same type of DNA "evidence" that convicted the American girl in Italy recently that no other law authorities recognise as trustworthy? It could be from anyone who has used the hotel room in the last ten years. We just don't know what type of DNA it is.

There is nothing in the article that singles out a sole rider. There is nothing in the article that signals out Contador.

So why did you start talking about Armstrong then? Actually we are not sure - it certainly seems to suggest the blood transfusion sets belonged to the winner of the tour.

And needles are still often used to inject victimins, so it may not matter whose DNA is on it. The article says they found some of this stuff on the floor - it's hard to imagine they would be so uncareful if this was doping stuff.

Yes, the more one looks at this report, the more it looks like rehashed junk.

"Formation" refers to the team. You've already been told that.

There is no suggestion of a particular rider other than...well... anyone on Astana. Of course it's obvious that Bruyneel et. al. have been blood doping for years, but hey, sure, might as well start the disinformation that it's only about Contador now.

According to our information, infusion sets belonging to the training the winner of the Tour have been seized by police from the Central Office of the struggle against environmental damage and public health (Oclaesp).

French and Spanish have a different interpretation of "public health".

You're the ones who wanted to make it a thread only about Armstrong. Given Contador produced the most suspicious performance in Tour history this year, he is surely the main suspect.

Seriously, responding to him is pointless. He is not even a cycling fan. He is just some mentally ill man in a basement trolling for attention. He is sick, really. I would love to see the meds he takes because I am sure they are numerous and psycorotpic heavy. Ignore him, all he wants is to frustrate. I think he bangs his willie while writing because this is obviously how he gets his jollies.

His Highness was on. He had to mention the 53 times he was tested. See, Lance is actually on the cross, and I am sure nobody else was tested nearly that much last year...

Like Lance's accessory dog Levi would ever be asked on Conan... :D

You're the person who had to stand up and say "My name is **** and I'm an alcoholic", and admits to drug abuse and anger management problems, and thinks Jesus does miracles, so glass houses and all that.

Don't let the troll distract us.
