6 in the group, HH and Ewan the sprinters. Ewan attacked on an earlier climb and used some petrol, HH sat on his wheel and sprinted past to win by a bike length.

It was much more interesting to watch than I thought it would be because Ewan actually put in a strong attack. I thought he would just sit back, but I've happily been proven wrong.

Sums up my thoughts. Ewan's lack of experience and inability to sustain top speed cost him the win but it does point towards him winning on this course in future years. Maybe some classics down the track.
Smart and strong ride by Haussler and it IS nice to see him pick up such a win as he is a quality rider. Drapac had numbers for much of the race but their quality was insufficient. Impressive rides by Bobridge and Flakemore and hats off to Hepburn over the last couple of laps.

At the moment he's just a Matthews with five fewer seasons in his legs. That's not to say he will not be highly competitive on numerous occasions.
