What happened to Bakelandts during the sprint? I thought he was going to take the stage easily today:mad:

1) He had nothing left in the tank
2) Even if he did, there is no way surely he is faster than Visconti? (or Ulissi for that matter)

Looked to me like he was the unlucky won who had to lead out the sprint, and his best chance was to out drag them, but he just ran out of gas.
I will say that Lotto has pleasantly surprised me this Giro, they've done quite well!

He should be quite tired by now, considering the amount of breakaways he has been in. It's a shame he hasn't gotten a stage win, cause he deserves one.

Why do you always start a new thread for questions like this? Seems to be perfect for the race thread.

As someone else said, he panicked. The group behind were closing and he rolled to the front which was silly. He looked pretty tired anyway. Weird sprint. A guy riding in a straight line is pushed off his line by an idiot who boxed himself in. Luckily the Spanish rider was alert enough to see the movement otherwise Visconti may have been packing his bags.
