So basically Red Flanders has started a thread on Ben Swift in the clinic to say he is not a doper, and to cast aspersions at his teamates who already have plenty of threads about them, if I didn't know better I would call that trolling.

Absolute manure.

Report it if you have an issue.

So if you think Swift isn't particularly suspicious, why start a thread about him, if it was to do with other Sky riders which you implied, why not put it in the sky thread, you protest at my point would imply your guilt

And no I don't report every post that I think is trolling, I would be here all day and I suspect the mods with give you protected status if I did.

It was an unusual result for him. Even if he doesnt think it raises any red flags, why shouldnt he be allowed to see what other people think about it?

If you have that much trouble with people thinking your beloved riders might be doping, maybe avoid going into the clinic?

Just sort it unusual, I mean Red Flanders wouldnt normally start a threads on riders that win a stage of a race, other that to suit his agenda, I don't understand why he didnt just make a comment in Sky thread, I guess some might think he is trolling though to suit his when some might think is a warped agenda, obvioulsy I couldnt comment on that.

Don't act like you haven't accused people with 0 evidence before? Youve done it a number of times in the pro section.

Like Contador and Valverde ( and very indirectly too ) ?:D

This victim status schtick you keep playing all the time is so pathetically weak. People have been given long bans for far less offensive insults than what you levelled at digger yesterday.
They've been given bans for far less distruptive behaviour than the anti clinic jihad you've been on recently where you explicitly accuse a majority of the forum (the last figure you gave was 75%) of being trolls. Not indirectly or anything, but with those exact words -75% of the forum are trolls, you said. Even though baslessly accusing people of trolling is against the rules.

They've been given bans for less serious attacks on the mod team than the ones you've been behind recently, especially the ones at benson.

I'll even leave aside for now the constant off topic baits you leave in clinic threads which have increased over the last few days.

And despite not being reprimanded for any of those, even though the mods would have been perfectly in their right to do so, still you whine about how your some victim, and protest some great conspiracy. You won't report posts because you "know" the evil mods in their inherent bias directed against you will not take your side. Why haven't they banned you then? Err, oops, theory doesn't really make sense afterall.

Grow up, seriously

How could anyone give a serious response to that. If you don't like the thread, move on.

I don't think he's a doper. He could be. As stated, I am impressed with his palmares and wanted to hear other opinions. I knew it would move into doping so I started it here.

Why on earth would it be an issue for you that I started a new thread on a young rider rather than have it get buried in the sky thread.

I hope he's a clean young talent.

Here's an idea: how about we all stop replying to him and his ilk. Seriously, we're right where they want us.

There is already a thread on him in the PR section, so why not comment on him there?

Good suggestion, could you troll that thread instead?

No one here wants to read your barely coherent ramblings. And you dont want to read threads/posts by people with "agendas", so its a win/win.

I was going to point out that there's a BS thread both here and in the RR section, just as there were "DB quits" threads.
Berzin closed the DB thread here, because of "all the other Sky threads".
So, in theory, the same fate should await this thread.
Might be better just to move talk into the Sky superthread.

3 years ago I saw this guy dropped on Mur de Bretagne during the Tour de France. Last year he was nowhere to be seen and suddenly tada...

I think %95 of the peloton got dropped that day, so pretty much everybody sucks big time by that logic.

Mods are aware of the thread. Whatever they decide is fine. Clearly the objections are obviously off-point and agenda-driven, but...it's an internet forum. Their call, and if it reduces the rancor, great.

Why is everyone so d*** worried about what thread goes where? Who cares? This is the BS thread...makes commenting on him easy if one wishes to do so... or makes it easy to avoid if one wishes to do so.

The answer is in the exact post you quoted here. Let me bold it for you.

There is nothing wrong with Red Flanders thread as far as I can see. It's a discussion thread on Ben Swift, last I checked this was a discussion forum. The Sky thread is so vast that it makes sense that he would want to start a new thread on a rider instead of just having the discussion get lost in the Sky thread. It's not trolling in any way. If you don't like this thread there is a simple solution, don't open and read it. And my thoughts on this have absolutely nothing to do with some ridiculous and completely wrong idea that some posters have some kind of protected status.

Now let's all get back on topic.

Which is a talented young (ish) rider exists. And although there's never been any suggestion by anyone, anywhere that he is doping, he is, in fact, a professional cyclist, so there is of course a nontrivial chance he is. [/ thread]

That was a good topic, I enjoyed it. Can someone open the Simon Yates thread now, as I see he won the young rider classification, and I think we could shed some light on that if we tried.

;)

Nah, Yates is clean. The reason he's clean is because his name has 2 vowels and 3 consonants. :D

Can we at least agree not to abbreviate Ben Swift as BS? It's so easy to read a message like this to mean something completely different (yet still true) otherwise...
