I hate to rain on @BlueRoads' parade, but Hodeg is on domestique duty with all the other big teams going for their sprinter. 12k to go.

It's not like I have any hope of them supporting him like DSM supports Bol for instance anymore...
To be fair he would probably not have won on this finish...
At least Ewan wins, my second favourite sprinter in this race.

Pretty important win for Lotto Soudal. They have such a hard time to actually win races without Ewan. Last win was Kron in Switzerland.

Asgreen is certainly not out by any stretch of the imagination.

He put a lot of effort into that when guys like Mohoric, Pedersen, Colbrelli, Kung, Wellens etc could all save their legs a bit more (assuming all them were in that group). The effort rather than the time loss will cost him imo.

He looked good indeed on those short bergs. That finish was little bit letdown. Ewan is favourite on this type of finish but Colbrelli and even Van Poppel were better which is quite sad. I hope he will be good upcoming weekend.

Of course, anybody would after such a hard effort. But it wasn't particularly long so of course he will be able to recover from it.

Saturday and Sunday, time gaps should be rather big. If you're good, and you have a good team, you can make up more than just seconds. Question is: how strong is Küng? Mohoric seems to be the favourite now though.

How is Durbridge not in the leader's jersey - He was ahead of Kung by hundreds of seconds after stage four, and they both finished today on the same time - Golden Kilometre sprint bonuses went to the break - Did Kung pick up other bonus seconds in the stage.

Can you believe that Haussler failed to make the Aussie team for the World's - He would be my second rider selected.
