Complete and utter failure of a jersey.
Hmm, maybe I'm glad Radioshack will likely not be around next season.

It's hard to believe that THIS is actually way better than the original design. Still, I don't get it. Make all the white parts of the jersey black, add a big fern and it would be good jersey even if they keep the red bands.

Much better design, although i still think they should go more similar to the proper national jersey and have green on the riders right side and red on the left side with a bigger shield because with the shield so small you see more jersey zip then shield

Cataldo's jersey is quite poor, I always quite liked the Italian champ jerseys that were green/white/red that took the design of the team in question. All national champ jerseys should stand out and grab your attention. The radioshack nz jersey is shocking though. Unless you realy looked you wouldnt notice it. Just a point in question, in certain teams this year eg Saxo, Garmin, Lampre, Radioshack many of the former national/world champions eg Roche, Martin, Cancellara, Pozzato do not have their national colours on their sleeves. Roche had them with AG2R and Cancellara should have the swiss colours and rainbow bands (tt) on his jersey. Seems very suprizing. Can anyone clarify please?

Would have liked to see one with the 'classic' sky design, but with the black replaced with Savoy blue, and the light blue stripe with the italian flag...

That would have looked cool but not been much of an Italian champions' jersey, more an Italian national team kit I guess.

Nevertheless, that kit well and truly sucks. I've always thought that say what you will about Sky, they made some sweet national champion kits (the travesty of EBH's 2012 Norwegian jersey notwithstanding). Knees, Stannard, Thomas and Wiggins all had jerseys that were all about being classy, and Arvesen had an old fashioned classic Norwegian kit.

This, this is as bad as Visconti's Movistar Italian kit, and almost Pippo Pozzato as Bulgarian National Champion level bad.

Apparently there's some UCI rule that national ITT champions can't wear their jerseys in a TTT as it's supposed to be another type of race (now that they've made a TTT Worlds and all that).
Of course Cataldo and Gastauer didn't care, and I haven't seen a fine coming their way yet.

It's the UCI, what else to expect.

I hypothesise that Movistar were simply ashamed of the national champions' jersey they made for Dowsett, because it actually looks like a good, classy national champions' jersey, so didn't let him wear it.

It's about the WC TTT. OPQS are world champion in that discipline, so the UCI don't want TT champions jerseys in team time trials anymore. However the teams first heard of this new rule just minutes before the tirreno TTT. Some teams had suitable "regular" skinsuits their tt champions could wear, but apparently movistar didn't. If you look back Martin wasn't wearing his WC jersey as well. In the giro's TTT you could also see Durbridge wasn't wearing his championship jersey.

However, Cataldo did have a sort of italian flag on his jersey. Maybe because of the minimalistic design it was allowed to be used?

I think thats a pity. We dont see the TT champs kits that often; now we'll see them even less.
