I mean why the hell must we suffer with all these differences in National jersey. It's just another way to lessen their importance.
There should be only ONE way the National champ kit is designed, and that should be the same for every ****in team FFS, much like the World champ kit.

What's with this GAZZILLION of colours and **** everywhere, British champs becoming Dutch champs, Dutch champs ridiculing themselves wearing another flag, while French and Luxembourgish champs are getting into a fight, and then the Slovak champs becoming part of a corporate logo, RaboBlancoBelkin allowed to ride...no wait that's for another thread :D

the flag is just a perfect dutch flag

the union jack on the shorts is cool though
All they have to do is replace the dutch flag with a Union Jack and they'd have a pretty good kit

British Cycling are very strict about the Champs Jersey. It has to be a white jersey with the red, white and blue stripes. So in theory even radioshack would have to produce a half decent jersey. For the same reason you'll never get a big union jack design (like the kit used at the world champs or on track events)

Its a classic design and i feel produces a nice retro look.

I thought so as well, but what about this? (It's about 15 years old so British Cycling might have changed the regulations.)

Could the rainbow stripes on Cav's jersey be considered pretentious or is it custom for former World Champions to put them on their jersey?

How many times have people explained already that Cav's jersey is the traditional British champion's jersey and that the traditional Dutch jersey is full flag and not chest bands?

It doesn't matter. He has the colours of the Dutch flag, it's ridiculous and stupid.

Actually, if you want to be pedantic, as long as OPQS got the colours right he doesn't.

No-one is claiming he is the Luxembourg champion now are they.

It may well confuse some with the dutch flag but it's still far better than having the awful union flag streched across or even worse some full body union flag attempt.

Not only is the design of Cav's jersey strictly defined by British Cycling, it is the same design as the classic GB athletics jersey. Take a look at old photos of Ovett, Coe etc

You can't go wrong with the classic design.

I like Brandão's jersey, just think maybe the black detail on the shorts ought to be in the deep green of the flag.

It would indeed be better. I also think that making band a bit larger would be great cus it would make the shield more visible.
