Best and Worst National Champs jerseys

Last evening I was watching stage 2 Tour of Hongary. In the last 5 (!) kilometers the UAE national champ was on the front. Commentators thought at first it was Molano but it is: Mohammed Almutaiwei (UAE/UAE Next Gen) guest riding with UAE. After Mirza any possibility that he promotes to the first team next year?

The Belgian Cycling Committee always makes it mandatory to properly show the Belgian colors for whoever wins the NC. Since this is Tim Wellens from UAE, who are known to make the least effort, people thought there might be a clash. But UAE just obliged, and finally has a decent NC jersey.

When they're made to, they do. McNuggets had the full stars and stripes in the past aswell.

Can someone please write a 100-word essay explaining what the heck Movistar is doing with their championship jerseys?
In particular the fact that their championship jerseys are dark blue, rather than white.

Maybe this post could benefit from some visual aides?

And apparently, it's only for the Spanish jerseys, this being Aular's jersey:

You'd think a Spanish team would want to have their Spanish Championship jerseys be, you know, good...

I'm a simple man and think those dark blue jerseys look pretty good. Easy to spot from a heli shot too.

But it doesn't highlight the fact that they're national champions.
Anyway; that's not a 100 words! You get an F!
The Spanish flag has red and yellow stripes as the main design and lets ignore the ensign as being too complex for inclusion in a jersey.
There's only so much you can do with those stripes. Should they go all-in and drop the big M and all we see is three this stripes?
It would look good, but maybe the sponsor not so happy.

I don't know much about Spain, other than I enjoy being a tourist there. Is there another national color associated with the country that isn't prominent on the flag? For example the Italian national teams seem to wear azure, the Dutch teams Orange.

Blue has certainly been used as the third colour on Spanish national football kit for decades. I'm not sure whether there is any particular heraldic/historic relevance. Reference to maritime history perhaps? @Cordi333 ?

I am not sure where there come the blue shorts... Aragon crown colors (the señera flag) were yellow and red, Castile crown quarters were red and white - with the lion of Leon being purple over a white square and the castle of Castile being yellow over a red square. Then Navarre flag was red with a yellow chain... The most repeated colors are clearly red and yellow and then the blue is nowhere I think until the french origin Borbón dinasty arrives withe the flowers of lis emblem... So the blue shorts may be a tribute to the crown? Or maybe it comes from the fascist falangist faction (and their blue shirts) that were big at the start of Francoism? Or maybe at first it was just chosen cause aesthetic or random reasons and then they kept using the red shirt - blue shorts design cause of tradition? Probably the last explanation is the most plausible, people just choose a color without going down the history rabbit-hole jaja

Btw, don't know if many foreigners remember this... but the spanish cycling national team had a traditional color kit in the past that didn't match the flag... the same way italians wore deep blue, the belgians wore sky blue or the dutch wore orange... the spanish wore GREY! It was similar to the belgian kit, with the flag in the middle. And I would love to see them one day going back to it.
