pretty damn good advert for Cycling today... probably the most watched race world wide and they get to see a six hour epic...

I talked a couple of mates into watching it. They were not into cycling at all but the pair of them absolutely loved the drama and excitement of it all.

Yeah, too bad for Henao. That said, the incident just added to the drama of the race, which was great overall.
Because drama is always great amiright?
It certainly made the race very exciting, don't you agree?

Indeed. Roubaix was also heavily influenced by crashes anyway

It was a great race, but Paris-Roubaix was even better.

For a confirmed cycling fan that may be true although i do disagree as i loved the ORR more.

But to fans we want to attract to the sport the ORR wins hands down for me as it had everything. My mates got bored with PR but loved today and they are not cycling fans at all.

Great race. But PR was still a little bit better, racing wise.

I mean, part of the drama was because of all the crashes. And that's not something you want really.

Year / Season ain't even over...

Please raname the thread to ''Which of ORR and P-R was the better race?'', or something along those lines.

What's going to be better than those two? Lombardia with that course?

Oh wait nvm, I forgot that incredible worlds course

What course is Lombardia even on this year? PR was better, but this was pretty special too. Had Nibali won... :D

Nah. I enjoyed it tremendously anyway. Well done to GVA great rider. And Fugslang but also Majka, and Henao. If Alaphillipe was a better tactician he'd have won.

I preferred Paris Roubaix

Today was an epic race but I would not have that descent in any race ...it was too dangerous and several riders are now injured which I hate plus the race was deceided by a crash

I like small teams and no radios and mix difficult courses like today but I don't want people liking cycling because of the drama of/created by crashes...these are humans who work so hard to race and then they end up in hospital...

both really good.. voted Rio because in my rumble opinion, 5 man team, no radios in a +4.000mts with so many stars(gc+classics) really wanting to go for it makes almost impossible to predict who will podium or even top10... even more than this year PR...
2 more things i think made Rio good; be after TdF and once in a life time chance to most stars.....

i know that rio is still fresh but c'mon there is no contest. roubaix still wins.

Sure it does, it was crazy. But this road race was excellent also bit of a shame for the race that Nibali and Henao went down as I'm not sure they'd have been reeled in on the flat. The no radio small teams makes exciting racing. So good to watch.

Rio was good, really good but Roubaix was even better.

IMO the ORR splits PR and Flanders. We've been lucky to get three truly outstanding one day races this year. Hopefully Lombardia can match them.
