Who is your pick?

A case can be made for Kittel, Gaviria an Sagan (if you count him as a sprinter) in my opinion.

Ewan did well but i feel like he had more in him and didn't quite get it together yet.

Kittel and Gaviria in the earlier parts of the season, last few month it was Viviani.

At the end of the day, the tdf is the pinnacle for the sprinter - and Kittel dominated a very impressive field. He's in a league of his own at present.

Gaviria obviously stepped up from potential to actual in the Giro. I thought Demare stepped up a peg in 2017 too. Greipel unfortunately stepped down.

Ewan and Groenewegen both had good years, but are still ripening.

Sagan is Sagan ~ don't think he belongs in this category.

It depends. You could say sagan is the best sprinter because he is a sprinter who besides being that is also capable of winning harder races. However if we only talk about top end speed there is seriously no way you could argue against kittel.

So far I'd say Kittel. If Gaviria wins in Bergen then it's him.

Why would that change anything? Besides Gaviria only Sagan and Viviani races there from the worlds top 10 sprinters. Gaviria might have had a betters season as a all-round cyclist if he wins the worlds for sure, but Kittel will still be the best sprinter of 2017 by a huge margin.

Kittel because he happened to ride the Tour, but he never had to face. Gaviria. :)

it would be indeed between Gaviria and Kittel is Kittel doing the WC then let them sprint the winner takes it all

Lol I don't even know which races Kittel won. Never seen him win this year. :D

I'm a fan of cycling all year long and I was even having a hard time remembering his wins. He has actually won 14 stages this year.

So true. Even his Tour wins seem meaningless.

Change the title to Best NEW sprinter of 2017.. Marcel Kittel was the best and everyone knows it for 2017. End of story.

How is this even a contentious question? It's Kittel, then Gaviria then daylight

Also, if Sagan is included then surely Matthews should be an option?

not a stretch to say the top 3 sprinters were all teammates this year. How about the best leadouts? has to be Quick-Step again
