Costa, not Nibali, won that Dauphiné stage. ;)

Maybe do separate polls for stage and one-day races? Just a thought, think Lombardia would fit in.

Cheers.

Edit: saw your post above.

That stage in the Dauphiné was won by Costa, who caught Nibali in the end. That was a good stage, but I actually like the one Nibali did win in the Tour better.

But for me: Gent-Wevelgem nr. 1 this year.

You guys are right. In my memory Nibali won it, probably because he was being Nibali that day.

Edit: yes, maybe not a bad plan, BigMac. I'll change this into the best stage race then.

Re: Best race of the year (2015)

1. GW, no question.
2. Bertie at the Giro/Mortirolo. Mythic climb, mythic ride.
3. Other: Pinot winning l'Alpe (of course ;) ), featuring the "too little too late" attack from Quintana.
I can't put the bloodbath in my top-3. I feel too sorry for TD.

Yeah, voting works, but the votes that had already been casted changed into the replaced option. Gent-Wevelgem was the 3rd option for example, and now stage 4 of the Giro got those votes...

That's a good question, we had many great stages, for me Giro stage 4 was probably the best gt stage of the year, but the Eneco stage (best one week race of the year) and the Paris-Nice and the Dauphine stages are also very good candidates for the title best stage of the year.

Wellens in the Eneco Tour was a masterpiece.
Many Giro stages were great too.

I didnt see many of these stages, but from what I've seen the Eneco stage was the best.

Would put stage 4 of Andulucia above stage 3

My choices
1. Dumoulin Vuelta - Cumbre del Sol. Benitachell
2. Cummings TDF Mende
3. Froome PSM

Hm, why? Stage 4 was a 2km attack from Froomey vs a mano a mano battle on the entire climb.

Stage 3 was no more a mani mano battle than stage 4, Contador along with Basso caught out a badly positioned Froome, not a mano mano battle

Ah, didn't know he was a Froome fan. PSM could have been in top-3 for a neutral fan as well :)

Yeah, being 30" behind at one point on a climb is because you're badly positioned..

Eneco 6, Giro 4 and Vuelta 20 are all vying. Vuelta 20 was perhaps the most straightforward of them but also the one with the most on the line. Tour 20 was also way better than Tour 10, although it petered out somewhat once we realized Quintana simply wasn't going to pull back anything like enough. Vuelta 11 was also pretty good of those not mentioned as well. If we could have seen more of the last day of the women's Emakumeen Euskal Bira it may have been worth nominating, as going into the stage you had Niewiadoma leading with Moolman level on time, Johansson 2" behind and easily the fastest finisher up on GC and Guarnier at 7", two steep Basque climbs to settle it, and the five minutes of footage I've seen mostly comprised attacks from the top 2 on GC, presumably fearing Emma J's sprint finish - whether that's a representative clip or the sum total of all the action I don't know. The Giro stage that Guarnier won from the small group was really exciting as the bunches were shredding, but once the select group of eight was established it rather settled down again late on. The closing stages of the TT in the Tour de Pologne was pretty good fun as well, with the GC on the line, though I wouldn't call it a contender for stage of the year in and of itself. The first stage of the Tour de Yorkshire was waaaaaay better than it had any right to be, too.

Giro stage 20 in a bad way. That farce will be remembered for some years. It's the exact opposite to the great 2005 stage.

Stage 9 of Vuelta. The last 3 kms of the stage was a hell of fighting. Like we say in Spain, it was a "cara de perro" (dog's face) fighting.
