You failed because you didn't answer the question posed to you.

You failed because you didn't provide evidence of Armstrong's opponents lying about Armstrong.

You failed because you can not back up and support your argument with evidence.

0-3 one more and you'll have a Golden Sombrero

So are you saying to me that every one of Armstrong's opponents are credible and have never told a lie or exaggerated something about him?

Yeah, that's the problem with the clinic isn't it.

As an outsider to The Clinic, I am amazed at the knowledge and the opinionated extrapolations based on fact that abound here. Amazed and thankful.

As an outsider, I have no agenda when I say that ... this ... El Pistolero ... guy/gal is off-base, off-center and off-kilter. El P posts and then plays ostrich with head in the dirt.

If asked questions about what you yourself have posted, answer. Or maybe admit the error of your ways and fearful flight from reasonable discourse.

Fond regards,

I asked you to provide an example of a lie told by Armstrong's opponents (Andreau) about Armstrong.

You've claimed she and others have lied about Armstrong. All we want is evidence of their lying about Armstrong.

So far all we have is evidence of you trolling.

I'm not defending Lance, but he doesn't have to apologize to her publicly, I guess he did it on the 40 min. conversation. Maybe fair, but his doping admission can be taken as an apology. She should move on.

If you acuse someone publicly of being a liar, you need to apoligize to them publicy and admit that you, yourself, are the true liar... simple as that.

Lance does indeed have almost no credibility. I'm not on the pro-Armstrong side here.

I was demonstrating (well trying) that credibility has several facets and is not an immutable construct and yes, even Lance has some (limited and variable) credibility.

Well, he did admit to being a liar on the Oprah interview. He should probably apologize to all the people he sued unfairly.

But more importantly, he should give the money back he won in such law cases. ;)

Well no, I wasn't there in all her conversations with Armstrong to know what's true and what's not.

You were apparently, so what did really happen then?

All you are doing is blowing smoke. Put up or shut up.

Bingo. That's what I (and millions) wanted to hear, but the qwunt couldn't bring himself to do it. A clear and unequivocal mea culpa together with an apology straight to camera would have served his own interests far better than the shameful half truths we got.

I was pretty surprised that Oprah didn't push him at all about his appalling attitude and comments about Becky and Emma. Both of them deserved an apology, instead they got more slimy obfuscation. I can't quite believe how much my loathing for this creep has grown since yesterday. Scum.

There's still another part coming up. Not that I'm expecting a mea culpa to everyone he offended over the years, but I didn't expect him to come clean in the first place either, so who knows...

The only reason Oprah got this interview was if Lance could control the flow of the interview. She gets high ratings in return for her network. Win win situation for both sides. Why else would he chose Oprah?

I was hoping Oprah & staff would be able to do some fact checking afterwards and realize that she should reach out to some (Emma, Betsy, maybe Tyler, Greg) and do a follow-up show where they go through and set the record straight. I would be OK for Oprah "milking" this a bit more as long as it resulted in the other side (aka those listed above) also having a platform to make their case. It seems only fair. Isn't that what journalism is supposed to be about, anyway?

I agree. But, Oprah is not about journalism, she is about ratings. That is why OneBalledWonder picked her and not a real journalist.

Lance publicly destroyed her for years. He owes her a public apology for that.

He also ruined numerous financial prospects for her husband. In a fair world he would pay them damages for that.

He also caused them untold amounts of stress, alienation, and public derision. He can never repay them for that lost time and happiness no matter what he does, so he damn well should at least give her the first two if he wants any forgiveness from anyone else!

To El Pistolero, I'd like to quote Oprah and say "What was that?"

You've always seemed like a reasonable poster, but where are you coming from that you think Betsy is making stuff up? There are so many people who've given us stories of Lance's lying, and the ONLY person to ever directly impugn Betsy is Lance, and even she'll admit that even he never called her a liar.

So who are you to call someone a Liar that even Lance wouldn't call out in that way?

To anyone doubting the truth of Betsy Andreu's statements, in particular regarding Armstrong's "hospital room" statement where he confessed to drug use:

1) She had nothing to gain by "lying" and much to lose, as history has shown given she told the truth;

2) She gave a legal deposition. If she lied, this could put her in jeopardy of perjury charges.

3) Lance Armstrong did not deny the conversation happened, nor did he admit it did happen. Either answer puts Armstrong in the position to face perjury charges.

4) He admitted to PED use back to the mid-1990s, his pre-cancer days.

Clearly, the hospital room conversation happened as stated by Betsy.

Regarding lies on both sides:

1) What are the sides?

2) Regarding Armstrong, up until last night, his side is an entire lie. Last night was a mix of lies and convenient truths.

IMHO, the only "side" that counts is the USADA. Please point to one lie in their case against Lance Armstrong.

For which she was subpoenaed. It was not voluntary.

Dave.

I've deleted a LOT of posts ignoring my warning about the Betsy/lying line of discussion. If the discussion about Betsy lying continues, I'm going to have to close the thread. I think it's been clearly established that there is no evidence of her lying and the discussion has been causing a flame war I've been putting out all morning. Please move on.
