So, while she knew that her husband was helping Armstrong, and using PED's to do so, did she stop accepting his salary?

Also, she blames Armstrong... how about her husband?

While she knew? The ten seconds between finding the EPO and telling him he'd better never do it again? That's the best you have?

ChrisE to the rescue... ever chivalrous ;)

My goal is to win you over. I got on your bad side in the Arnold thread, now I am attacking Betsy by asking questions, so I know I am in your ditch right now. I will not stand for somebody calling you a dude.

Pretty soon you will be writing me love PM's like those sick women write to prisoners.

I'll see if I can help a little...

Speaking for myself, I am sick and tired of the aggressive, scorched earth, Fabiani politics of personal destruction tactics being used to smear many good people. Like Betsy.

You are using those tactics and I take umbrage. I asked you to tell us what Betsy is guilty of. I'd appreciate a response.

First of all, I'm not smearning Betsy... I'm just saying that she's no National Treasure.

What is she guilty of? Lying... both she and Frankie continued to accept money from his team(s) and sponsors knowing that he (Frankie) was cheating.

Is it admirable that they came clean? Yes... but they contributed to the problem and are not innocent.

That is some of the weakest sauce I have read yet.

My opinion.

Nope, no smear there...just calling her a liar.

Oh yeah and:

Because Betsy and Frankie aren't innocent.... This thread heralded Betsy to be a National Treasure, yet she and Frankie continued to cash his paychecks that he earned off of cheating.

Why on earth would anyone consider THAT a disparaging remark?

How could Frankie be lying to the team when it was the team that was encouraging the doping?

As soon as Betsy found out Frankie was doping she made him quit doping.

There's obviously a reason why you feel that way. Would you mind sharing?

For the same reason I would not consider you to be a liar for cashing your paycheck after speeding to work.

Of all the things Betsy could have done she chose the correct thing to do. In this day and age that is commendable. Yet you can't/won't/don't see that... instead you put forth an argument laced with stupidity and wonder why there is a negative response.

Things that make you go Hmmmm.

Cashing my paycheck after speeding to work? We're talking about two completely different things here.

How about if I fabricated reports to get a promotion? How about if I stole someone else's work and took credit for it? Would that be OK or would that constitue an argument laced with stupidity?

No - what would be stupid is to blame your wife.

So if this is what you are accusing Betsy of then show your cards. I'd like to see you connect those dots.

How about if your boss walked up to you and said you have to falsify this report or you have no future in the company. You do it. Feeling guilty you confide in your wife where she then lowers the boom on you insisting you never do something like that again.

What would your wife be guilty of?

All that matters about Betsy's claims is the list of drugs Armstrong rattled off that he used BEFORE he got sick-

1) EPO

2) Testosterone

3) Steroids

4) Growth Hormone

5) Cortisone

If McIlvane corroborated this in her testimony (there are rumors to the contrary, but at this point no one knows) this is just another detail that takes his achievements down another peg.

So when people say how super-talented he was pre-cancer, instead of rattling off the list of wins I'll make sure to include this one also.

By the way, would the Feds have trouble finding the doctor who asked him this question? It seems this guy is harder to find than Whitey Bulger.

On reflection, this is an interesting list.

It is interesting because at the time many observers that consider themselves knowledgeable about doping in cycling would not have imagined all of the items on this list. In other words, even many years after the Hospital incident, the general knowledge about doping in cycling would likely not have included all of these substances in an active doping program (e.g. no test for HGH). A key, but erroneous pillar, of Floyd's defense was that Testosterone was not used in cycling (notwithstanding Kirk OBee's positive among many others).

It was not until OP, and even then not until Haven's Fax to Fuentes, that there was solid evidence of all of these items being used in a comprehensive program.

Thus, further evidence of the truth of Betsy's 2005 deposition was that it was as comprehensive as it was, and that it reflected actual practice as opposed to 'conventional wisdom'.

Somebody just making it up would have erred on a shorter list.

Dave.
