Radioshack or Sky.

I understand that many probably took pleasure in the Shack's dismal season, but this is just from an expectation standpoint-- which team was the bigger failure?

Radioshack by a mile. Count the wins.

Shack 15 wins of which Phinney picked up 3.
Sky 22

They both sucked.

After Wigans stiffed Garmin, it was very nice to see karma in all it's glory.

Watching LA at the TdF was way better tho.

Radioshack geard up for ToC and failed.

Radioshack takes it. They sucked more than Sky.

Sky were a little dissapointing, but overall they had some decent wins. They will learn from their mistakes.

On this forum, Everyone expected Radioshack to fail so how would their season be a dissapointment?

Though it was good to see Wigans fail!:D

Nice to see TSF has a team sky avatar now!

Radio Shack was built around a washed up, broken down old man accused doper.

Sky was built around a over estimated, overated ego maniac lad with a bad haircut.

Both teams produced exactly what they should have based on how they were constructed, so all in all I think they both has successful seasons, really.

Radioshack.
At least Sky tried with their 'hyper-advanced super technology'.
Radioshack will fall apart next year. Sky might just have some luck at produce some proper results.

Having spoken to DB a couple of times, this assumption couldn't be further from the truth!

SKY.

RS was already laughed at before the season even began with all their 30+ riders. A TDF only team, everybody could see the intentions.

SKY was kinda expected to be up there in almost every race.
If Omloop het Volk is your biggest win with that money behind you you've failed incredibly hard.

Radioshack for sure. With the roster they have they should have done a lot better.

Sky did have several riders that didn't reach their level from previous years. EBH had injury problems during the most intresting period. Gerrans wasn't himself, Wiggins was too focused on the Tour and disappointed there. I had also expected some riders to grow more or come into their own but that didn't happen for riders like Froome, Augustine, Carlström.

Still they also had riders that were postive surprises like Downing, Sutton, Thomas, Possoni, Nordhaug and Cummings.

Then there were a bunch of riders that performed well as expected like Henderson, Flecha, Barry, Swift (though he races relatively few races) and Hayman.

Their season was also cut short by the death of their soigneur in the Vuelta and several riders decided to end their season there and then because of it.

Compared to expectations from within sky themselves, they were under par, but a lot of teams would have taken 22 wins and stacks of podiums. They'll learn. Radioshack had to fought hard to get race invites and even failed at that. So radioshack for me.

I also think sky biggest success was signing uran and resigning possoni

i think people area bit harsh on sky though I think their expectations were a bit high for a first season. Some of their signings were questionable for what was on the market and the money they had.

sky thought they were the sh!t when they hit the roads. Making ridiculous comments, and then failing to deliver to match this hype. That is major fail.

But they were always better than shack, and have a better attitude toward the future.

Bare in mind that Radioshack did only 1 gt 21 stages.

Sky did 2.

Baring this in mind Radioshacks stage win is more important. They picked up a win in the Tour, Sky got a win in the Giro, to which Radioshack werent invited to so couldnt get anything out of it.

Also Radioshack got a top 10 gc which Sky didnt and they got a team gc (doesnt mean much i know, but still something)

Radioshack got 2 of the big stage races - Pais Vasco and Dauphine.
Sky didnt.

Id say Sky is the bigger disapointment.

Though as i have said before, i expect big things from SKy next year.

Epic fail. Why? Care to elaborate?

I actually completely agree with ak-zaaf:

Sky haven't quite achieved what they set out to achieve, but an epic fail? Villa still have had a reasonable season and gave races ago.

Sky's goal wasn't to win the Tour de France this year(stated goal was 10 years, I think ten years may be more likely), Radioshack's was. At best Sky was to podium. Sky planned to feature in the Classics through EBH, Flecha and Gerrans. Unfortunately both EBH and Gerrans suffered with injury and illness but Flecha did well in my opinion.

Meanwhile Radioshack failed at what would be considered their main goals the ToC and the Tour. All the more funny since Armstrong claimed he was close to his best form going into the Tour. Additional their entire image was dragged through the mud thanks to the Armstrong investigation. In fact any mention of Radioshack in the press seemed to mention Armstrong in a negative light. That is pretty bad.

Sky got things wrong but seem willing to learn, and they seem to have a group of guys that really like to work together and are able to attract riders with potential to the team. However Radioshack riders have expressed disappointment about the team and I'd say there has been a reluctance for riders to sign for them.

Overall, Sky has had a decent season and they should do better next year. Radiohack have had a moot season that honestly looks like dipping further next year rather than getting better.

Pretty similar seasons for me but given Radioshack looked to have a far superior team, especially for the GT's, then I would class their season as worse.

A top 10 at the TDF classes just below a top 3 at Paris Roubaix for me, so for that I'll give Sky one there.

Brajkovic's win at Paris Nice saved Radioshacks season. Without that they were completely and utterly rubbish.

Sky's problem is that as soon as the road goes up they were found to be lacking big time. With Uran and Xandio's sigings that should improve. They've also suffered from injuries at the wrong times (Gerrans, EBH and Arveson mainly).

I expect Sky's performance to be better next season, especially in the classics. I can't say the same about Radioshack though.

Sky for me by a mile. All the hype. All the BS about little differences. Wigans found out. Lame TOB. And I don't expect anything different next year apart from maybe some results from a fit EBH.
