old doesn't have to mean beautiful

These are the 4 most but-ugly bikes I've seen in one place. They make the first couple of bikes in this thread (Specialized and Look), which I thought were bad looking, look beautiful.

I think Didi Senft should show up at the Tour with this bike.

Don't ya think it would look way better with normal wheels on it.. Ok the Orange paint is a little sour, maybe it'd look better with some Zipps on it.

And that Appleman, thats so in the wrong thread, thats one hell of a good lookng bike. Whats the build?

I am surprised the kirk Precision hasn't appeared. That must be the worst bike to ever see service in the pro peleton

HaHa! For any normal user, definately a different set of wheels. But that fork-tailed design really goes with the devil suit and pitchfork Didi uses at the Tour. ;) ... But for that the paint could be a little more red.

New Specialized Roubaix.

The curved top tube makes the front triangle look like a beach cruiser. It creates an inconsistent design of curved and straight tubes, The tapering front triangle tubes are ugly. The seat stays have an unnecessary and visually jarring kink in them. The fork extends straight from the head tube and then suddenly changes angle near the drop outs instead of curving. The drop bars have a very unpleasing, almost compressed looking, curve and do not drop much.

why does it look to me like that frame is humping the front wheel?

Yes, bikes are getting uglier. As evidence we will be riding these abortions next year......I want my Giant back (and they were not the prettiest bike to start with)

Who says Trek didn't back LeMond? They let him put his name on one of the worst bikes Trek ever made. :)

'cept this is a Softride (not one of the Trek Y-foils)

ugh...

What? Is it based on a folding bike...that doesn´t fold.

It´s going to jump off the shelves this holiday season...guaranteed.

What sucks is I really like their bikes. The Epiphany and Truth are great frames...

I have no idea what they were thinking with this one:

This 'thing' is currently for sale in New Zealand on the local internet auction site -'Trademe"---for NZD$9500--Carrera Phibra

It's not just the frames. Everything about the average cyclists' position on a bike of out of wack.

Stems that are too short or too long, frames that are too small, handlebars tilted up to the sky, saddles pushed all the way back on the rails-it's an aesthetic monstrosity.

The worst has to be the sloping top tubes on bikes. The bigger the frame, the longer the head tube, the longer the seatpost.

Nothing graceful about it.

A heap of junk, how would you get into a low profile position on that unless maybe if you're a midget? and Kenda tires again.
