Bikes are getting uglier

They are getting uglier. And it makes me one sad.

I have a Look problem: I had a 381, 461 and now a 585...

I have been shopping for the next one, and this is what is on offer?! Wtf?

New Specialized Roubaix.

The curved top tube makes the front triangle look like a beach cruiser. It creates an inconsistent design of curved and straight tubes, The tapering front triangle tubes are ugly. The seat stays have an unnecessary and visually jarring kink in them. The fork extends straight from the head tube and then suddenly changes angle near the drop outs instead of curving. The drop bars have a very unpleasing, almost compressed looking, curve and do not drop much.

Well they've tried to sex-it-up a bit, but gotten it all wrong.

I hear ya. I find the older next-to-top Looks just beautiful and elegant, but those integrated puppies are definitely an aquired taste. They never really topped this.....

And don't get me started on those 675s. One of the very worst. Hit hard with the ugly stick.

They will change again when discs really take off. Won't happen until 2016 though

I agree with you totally on the new Look bikes. I had a 595 SR and absolutely loved it. One of the nicest bikes bikes I ever rode. 695 and 675, yuck. Ugly.

I've got to say that the 695s are a bit better "in person" than the photos would have you believe. Still wouldn't be my choice, though.
