Sure this is a innovative design for a bike, but god it is also the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

A softer frame never seemed to slow Sean Kelly. Outside of some bikes that are total noodles, I would say that it makes sense most of the time. The exception might be in a big sprint underneath a strong, heavy guy like, say, Thor Hushovd. A lighter rider has more options.

For a season at least, Robbie McKewen sprinted on a Lightspeed Ghisallo. Not the stiffest frame in the world. He didn't seem to mind the flex too much. He was after the light weight IIRC.

NAHBS 2013: OGRE GETS THEIR WELD ON…AND ON AND ON AND ONThis year, Ogre from Japan was displaying two handcrafted titanium (and carbon) bikes featuring a lot of welding. The road frame seems to be a cross between a Trek Y-Foil, a Softride, and a stealth bomber.

This Ti mountain bike has a lovely curved downtube. However, rather than bend the tube, master builder Eiji Konishi of Ogre cut small sections of tubes and welded them in to create the bends.
