Problem is, the rest of the year Frank did virtually nothing. He rode the Giro... did you notice him? It's not like he had a leader to work for.

Still, he rode a remarkable climb on the Triesenberg, that's for sure.

The Giro was his first Grand Tour (as I would hardly call dropping out of the tour after the 1st day, his first GT) so understandable that he didn't perform up to expectations. You are right in saying that he was quiet but I think he can lift and become a consistent performer. Seemed to look decent at the Tour Down Under so hopefully he can bring some results.

Errr, no. Did you watch Mathias at races such as the 2011 Tour de Suisse or stage 11 of the 2011 Vuelta? There is no doubt he is a very good climber and possibly BMC's top 4 climbers therefore he should be in the team. Quinziato would do a very similar job to Hincapie, Burghardt and Hushovd.

Yeah i did i was just taking the mickey. He also did well on the stage to Orvieto in the Giro.

I personally did. He may not have been climbing at the deep end but he was in nearly every single break, day in day out.
That takes as much stamina as climbing with the best and he was probably obeying orders to get in breaks and try and get a win as there was no team leader.
