To many stars in one team?
No tactics?
Not training hard enough thinking wins are forgone conclusion?

Today they were bad. Early days but I didn't like what I saw or heard post race.

They should have won today.

Ballan and Van Avermaet actually worked quite well together today, Cancellara was just hors category.

Massively Best team on paper, didnt produce a win, they wouldn't win against Cancellara thought today anyway, but none at podium is a fail.

So embarrassing to lose to Cancellara.

Indeed, nothing wrong with BMC, their top two were just in for the miles today. You cannot expect Ballan or GVA to be able to compete against Cancellara when he's fired up. Maybe people just think those two are something they aren't.

What is up with Gilbert?

Gilbert aims at LBL, Tour + Olympics and WC. So very long season, no need to be good at this point. Maybe he learned from last year, when he had nothing left at the end.

Don't worry, Phil will be ready in time :p

Cancellara will probably be the big favorite for the Ronde though and also the big non-sprinter favorite for Milan-San Remo.

He won in Quebec, could have won in Montreal and was one of the best in GdL where he lost because he was suckered into attacking too early.

Doesn't look like he had nothing left, or at least that he needs optimal form to produce results.

Be that as it may he is always firing at this part of the season.

Besides he had loads left at the end of last season. In fact he rode strong all year.

I don't think you know what you're talking about.

He was pretty poor this part of the season in 2009(adjusting to the new bikes of his new team) and 2010. He wasn't exactly in super form in 2011 either in this part of the season.

Maybe he can win Quebec and GP de Wallonie riding on fumes but no WC or GdL. He needs to be 100% there. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to become world champion.

In 2009/2010 he didn't do the Tour. Last year he did and he looked tired in Tours and Lombardia.
It's impossible to be that good all season. Even if you're name is Gilbert.

You have this roster, and you can't even podium?

BMC RACING (USA)
1 GILBERT Philippe BEL
2 EVANS Cadel AUS
3 BALLAN Alessandro ITA
4 BLYTHE Adam GBR
5 HINCAPIE George USA
6 KOHLER Martin SUI
7 PINOTTI Marco ITA
8 VAN AVERMAET Greg BEL

Weak tactics...Anyone pressing the PANIC BUTTON yet?

I am not demanding a TT to victory. However he has done Qatar, Haut Var, Het Volk and now Strade Bianche and was largely invisible in all of them.

Why should they? Big races are still to come. You can press that button after LBL when they haven't won anything. But even then ther are plenty of races to come to save the season.

Sure, there's still plenty of time untill the Amstel. To either win Sanremo or Vlaanderen I would have expected him to show more at this point, he only has the Tirreno to really impress.

Well i don't think he will be ''invisible'' there

Does it mean that he tours around on purpose to generate discussions about his persona on the internet if he can just turn it on in the space of 1 week?

Oh and

 to you too

I think he will play a big role in Vlaanderen. There is still Tirreno and Sanremo (300km) to get in shape
