He's more hyped as a climber me thinks, although he did surprise at Tirreno getting 10th and youth jersey.

He didn't get the youth jersey (Poels did). His top-10 in the Tirreno surprised me a bit as well, but then again, he is in his 4th pro year, finishing top-10 in a race like the Tirreno is hardly unheard of at that stage. It takes a little more than that and some nice test scores to predict a great future in this sport.

BMC is starting to get it around. Still not getting even close to their money's worth, but they looked like a proper team today. Gilbert will probably be the favourite for LBL if he has a decent FW.

LBL will be interesting if Phil isn't a level above everyone. Although that probably means an outsider will win.

They've always looked like a proper team to me. They just can't ****ing win. The "not enough indians" line that is popular here is so, so wrong, what BMC lacks is winners.

+1

Cadel Evans + Phillipe Gilbert are pretty much the only ones.

But with the latter not really top yet...

And even at his best Cadel only wins a few races a season. BMC also need stage hunters and sprinters who can take the pressure off before the big races. If the feeling in the team is you have to win Milano-Sanremo because you haven't had a single win this year, then you won't have a good time.

Well who know. Perhaps Thor finally does something in Giro d'Italia.

is BMC on the right path to be the biggest flop in cycling's history?

Fairly close. The last one I remember was the Stephen Roche Fagor team in 1988.

But hey at least the riders on the team have cashed in. That's all that matters. As long as they can afford enough peroxide for their hair life is good.

A champion team will always beat a team of champions.

I rest my case.

What do you think about Radioshack so far then?

Phil has been improving every week so far. He's on the right path to domination again.

Do you mean this season? BMC didn't start up this year, you know. They've had some decent results in the past.

don't think so- even if he "somehow" is able to reach good shape-it only be for L-B-L, but unlike last year, he will have "real" competition against him this time around-not of course in the shape of the Schleck darlings:D

They can't be considered that with Evans' victory in CI and Ballan's podium at RVV. A big disappointment, yes.

It's a good race between RadioShack & BMC for worst team of the year award.

I wonder which team will get the prestigious yellow girls blouse at the end of the season?
