Stupid yes. But rewatch the race and listen to what is being said inside the team car of QS ;) They thought Cancellara was going to win and that Chavanel had no chance against him. So yeah, they publicly admitted such a thing  You kind of shot your self in the foot right there :p

Eh?

I am talking about admitting to ordering Devolder to wait for Boonen.

Not sure that I shot myself anywhere here.

They weren't, but don't let facts persuade you.

Chavanel wheelsucked because it were team orders. He wanted to co-operate, but wasn't allowed to do so. FACT.

So Cancellara was scared of Boonen last year?

Oh boy, that wasn't even the good Boonen...

Cancellara will always be scared of Boonens's sprint as he knows its the only way in which Boonen will beat him in a classic.

I used your first paragraph to disprove your second paragraph.

I decided not to react to your Cancellara/Pozzato story, because they really aren't credible sources. We'll never know the truth on that one ;) Unless Devolder comes out, but he hasn't. What's holding him back? He's no longer part of the team and he can't stand Lefevere.

Lol, clearly never watched any classics before 2010.

Sad.

It was pretty clear Boonen reacted too late anyway, why would Cancellara be scared?

Yeh before 2010: what year are we discussing 2011, so yeh the only way in which Boonen can beat Cancellara in a classic is in a sprint or are you disagreeing with that?

You did? Really? How did it disprove anything? Because both statements have the same consequences for the teams image/atmosphere in the team? Because you say so?

You said QS knew Chava was that strong that day. The conversation inside the team car proved otherwise. I also read an interview where Wilfried Peeters said they won't be sending Chavanel in an early attack this year because of how strong he was last year.

Time will tell who was right I suppose ;)

Oh, that. Add another notch to QS being surprisingly (;)) clueless last year. It's dumb luck and Cancellara that they got 2nd and 4th from a strong but horribly misused Chavanel and a mediocre Boonen.

Yep, I agree. They were really clueless and stupid last year as far as tactics go. Painful to watch sometimes :p

Ok it was a Great Cancellara.

And this year Ive been watching Boonen dish out the pain and Ive been thinking, OMG Boonen is going to bring it Big time this year.

Then I saw Cancellara yesterday.

Ding Ding.

Even Harmonn spent the whole commentary laughing at what Boonen's face must be like watching that.

Ding Ding.

Game over.

The same Harmon you and other people on CN always call an idiot? Weren't you complaining the new course of the Ronde suited Phil too much and Cancellara will not stand a chance? How is it game over all of a sudden? ;) Because of a race where he beat Oscar Gatto and GVA?

Its game over for Boonen.

Cancellara won't necessarily win. A domestique or a superior explosive climber like Gilbert might.

Just that Boonen wont because all of Boonens strenghts < Cancellara, apart from sprinting which won't matter.

And I never complained they changed the course, I pointed out that you were always crying about how they changed Lombardy to a course that didnt suit Gilbert as much, but had little to say when they changed Ronde to a course that suits Gilbert so much.

As for ridiculing MSB. It wasnt that he won, it was the nature of the win.

Its funny that you idolise Gilberts 4k break in CSS so much, but yet when Cancellara does a 15km solo you act as if a win is a win and nothing else.

He didn't just beat them he obliterated them and you got the feeling it could have been more if he had tried.
And even an idiot can see the truth if it bangs him hard enough on the head.

If you are looking for the truth yes.

If you are looking for ways to justify your already instilled beliefs that Boonen and QS and Lotto are the best, then not really.

Just look at who has suddenly become Leipheimers biggest fan this year.

Where did I say Lotto was the best?

And when did I all of a sudden became Leipheimer's biggest fan? I already cheered for him at the Tour de Suisse last year. I'm afraid you're not looking for any truth here, just silly conversation. If it's just based on your silly lies then no point for further discussion really.

Besides, It's a BMC thread, not a Cancellara thread. Stop talking about Cancellara all the freaking time

He also obliterated the competition in the E3 Prijs last year ;)

I'm not saying Gilbert will win all races he'll enter because of CSS though ;)

What you guys are doing with MSB.

Game over for Boonen? How exactly? I know you can't stand him, but please don't be silly(yeah, I'm just putting words in your mouth now)

Sprinting won't matter? Lol, we'll see.

I came in long after the discussion shifted to Cancellara. Your getting desperate now:p

I love boonen, for this season anyway. Hes on my cq team;)

Sprinting won't matter?

For RVV. I dont want you coming at me with that quote after stage 1 of the Eneco Tour or something.

And Rvv and PR 2010.

Little details I know.

Thats nice to know but he also obliterated the competition tonnes of other times as well (especially if you include TT) the whole point was that the brilliance of his perfomance at strade bianche wasnt his beating Gatto etc but the style in which he did it...
so i dont really get your point about him obliterating all in E3 prijs last year.

That he was overconfident because of that E3 Prijs and it came back to bite him in the *** during the Ronde(going solo from 50+ km out, seriously?) and Roubaix("I'm a jet plane and you better strap on your safety belts because the Cancellara plane will be on fire"). That's my point. Everyone was also looking at him because of his great performance there. Cancellara put all his cards on the table and the peloton called out on his bluff when it truly mattered(weak team).

funny how people seem to forget that boonen still has more ronde and roubaix wins then cancellara . . .

this boonen is back this season

I know. I look at his sprints and think that it's a pretty difficult thing to do. But he looks awesome sprinting like that.

These days aero wins over power ... Cav is super low and aero. Same for Levi on TT bike ... super aero/compact ... perhaps the lowest aero drag ever measured for a Pro cyclist
