They must have thought last season wasn't that impressive.
Lol, Gilbert did not win the Ronde van Vlaanderen. They must mean LBL.

The time is running close to when the performances need to happen. I know some of the big guns are trying to set things up for a very strong Tour-Olympics period, but if they do not start hitting some of their objectives, then I'd say something is up.

Froome19 said:But they are not, because there hasnt been a single big classic, where they are supposed to shine, or a GT, so as a question it could be stated but as a statement its not true because all it is, is an excessive hyperbole. Which on this forum is commonplace, but sometimes a reality check is needed.
No such statement can become correct until after the tour, because gilbert winning San sebastien, Montreal and Quebec, Lombardia, Ouest plouay, eneco and the worlds along with Evans winning the tour and Ballan winnng Pologne and TJVG winning in Colorado and GVA winning Paris-Tours and OLympics, would not be called a bad season, currently they do seem to be shaping up to that ,though maybe not in such excess.
goggalor said:Evans not being where he was last year isn't entirely unexpected considering the Worlds course and other things, but how come BMC doesn't have Pinotti peaking for this race? Pretty much the entire team (exceptions being TJVG at P-N and GVA) has been rubbish so far. Are they planning a collective mass peak for the classics or what?
Of their star riders, I think Thor and Cadel are slowly coming into form. Phil not so much.
Wuyts said he earns a million euros. Which would indeed be crazy, for a guy with his palmares.Lanark said:Is it true wat Michel Wuyts said today that TJVG earns over a million dollars at BMC? I knew Phinney eared some ridiculous salary, but that would be really crazy.

This is indeed the worst I've seen Evans in the early season for a long time. He's usually an all year long rider.Mellow Velo said:As for BMC at Tirreno: OK, now I'm fairly convinced that Evans the TDF champ, has lost a bit of his hunger.
(or else he's got Andy Schleck writing his training program)
