Just seems to me (in the littlle that can be gleaned from a sound bite) that last yrs success has gone to PhilGils head.

He was quite critical about GVA, but GVA and Ballan are the only ones from BMC in the mix. And now Evans.

Thor and PG better get cracking!

Good to see Cadel back to his very best. With Andy Schleck seemingly gone at the game and Wiggins having passed his peak for the season already, it looks as if Cadel is going to save BMC's season with a repeat victory in the Tour de france.

You for real? Phillipe Gilbert has always been training really hard. Last year's season was simply way too long and he is still suffering from it right now.

Last year's season went to his teeth.

Well, this thread is now totally redundant, with Cadel's crushing win in a 2HC half stage, ITT.
(does that even count in the other thread?)

Since he's the leader after both half stages, I'd say he won one whole stage. ;)

No, it doesn't count.

Neither do sprints, hilly stages, mountain stages in March, time trials that aren't won by at least 20 seconds, etc

Nothing counts. Except EBH's point jersey in Qatar. That's the only thing that counts.

Hasn't their "buy everyone and become a super team on paper" policy kinda ruined it for you? At least a little?

Evans just proved once again that BMC ain't nothing without him-Andy Rhis must begin to look for a GT rider and not wait for Cadel to fade away next year...

Erm, they have Gilbert you know ;) The guy that almost single handily got his team the first place on the WT ranking. One day he'll regain his old form again and smash everyone to pieces in his races.

EBH has never won the point's jersey in Qatar. You must be thinking of Oman/Algarve/TDU/Eneco/Bayern Rundfahrt/ToB...

I really don't see the context either :p

I remember a poster saying that a point jersey in a small stage race is considered a victory when EBH won it. I'm just making fun of that in my post :p

Hmm, now you mention it, Boonen did win the points jersey in Qatar. I'm probably confusing it with Oman.

tbh, I am not a massive fan of Gilbert or Hushovd. More of a fan of guys like Burghardt, Ballan, Frank and Bookwalter who have been with the team a little longer.

Also, if you look around at other teams such as Sky, they have a very similar "buy everyone" policy. Actually I would say Sky are worse in that respect considering that they started a team just from buying riders were as BMC started out as a continental team and have built up more in comparison to Sky.

The problem is BMC looks a bunch of individuals and Sky more or less a team, their nationalistic hierarchy for Wiggo and Cav put both in a strong position in the eyes of the rest of Sky roster.

BMC, only Cadel has the respect of the others.

Hopefully Evans will win the overall and give the team a boost. With so many riders so close on GC should be an entertaining final stage.
