AGR and FW have both always featured loops, and LBL is, essentially, one big loop. Loop races are on-brad for the Ardennes. Embrace the loop.
Out and back is nothing like a circuit, especially not how it is in Liège. Amstel normally has no repeated loops, so that's just like Ronde. Flèche is indeed a low status race compared to what it could have been, and the circuit contributes to that.

Yesterday I saw a Conti Spanish rider going downhill on the Moskes because he wanted his teammate to take a video. My back wheel was going left and right with every pedal stroke, the rain just felt down and made the cobbles so slippery. Never had that before. Heard the Spanish G-word on the last hard part.
Also 1 rider from Caja went by, looked like Leitão so I saw the winner already.

Today I did an extra lap and only saw 3 riders. 2 from Bahrein together and one I couldn't see the back of his shirt because he went by too fast behind his motard on the finish straight. Now seeing the teams on the startlist I think it was Pidcock himself.

Tomorrow another try to see more pro riders. The weather also didn't help.

whyd they move this race to Friday? i got all ready to watch it just now and saw it's not for another 2 days.

Because Ronde van Limburg is now on Wednesday.
Flanders Classics wanted the Ronde van Limburg to close the cobble season and Brabantse Pijl closer to AGR to open the Ardennes season. They thought both would have a better startlist. I am not sure if that works out as they wished.

Their explanation was that it was due to Basque Country. They wanted more riders who did Basque Country to ride Brabantse Pijl.

The opening of the Ardennes classics starts with De Brabantse Pijl, and for me personally the start of finally seeing Evenepoel race again in 2025.

Course
In addition to a new place on the calendar, De Brabantse Pijl now also has a new starting point, at least for the men. The starting shot will sound in Beersel on Friday 18 April, and that will also be the case for the next 4 years. The race will start at 13:10 in the beautiful setting of the Provincial Domain Huizingen, where the riders will begin a 175 km ride with a total of 22 climbs. (It's actually 162.6km, so not sure whey their official communique is saying 175km)

With a start in the middle of the Pajottenland, there will not be a long wait for the first climb. After 6 km, the peloton will climb for the first time on Beersel territory. The Alsemberg, followed by the Bruine Put, are on the menu first. The riders then head to Lennik, where a passage on the Markt awaits around 13:50. After that, they will head back to Beersel once more, this time for the combination of Beerselberg and Bruine Put.

In previous editions, the peloton headed towards Beersel after the start in Leuven to seek out the slopes of the Pajottenland. The crossing to the Druivensteek will be similar in 2025 and will again take place via the climbs of the Eigenbrakelsesteenweg, Rue de Nivelles and Rue François Dubois. With around 75 km to go, the peloton will reach the finish in Overijse for the first time after a first passage on the Hertstraat, Holstheide and S-bend.

Then three traditional local laps await in Overijse. Each lap is about 20 km long and consists of the climbs of Hertstraat, Moskesstraat, Holstheide and S-bend Overijse. Around 17:15 the successor of Benoit Cosnefroy should be known.

Top Competitors
Besides the return of Evenepoel and Pidcock there are also many youngsters to keep an eye on. Jan Christen, Per Strand Hagenes and Joseph Blackmore are racing too.

nice introduction to the race! Is there going to be a spot where we vote for "Who Will Win"?

163km? What is even the point? Not even long enough for a decent solo nowadays! Seriously though, is this an U23 race? One extra lap and it would have been 183km, that should have been the bare minimum.
Are you even going to watch the whole 163km race? I bet few would. Kind of funny to demand riders cover more kms that fans wouldn't even bother to watch.

But obviously the reason for this is to let riders save legs for Sunday.

Big sprint. Short race. Boring really.

Let an outsider win. Such as Remco.
Ba-dum-tssh

Me wanting the race to be longer has little to do with me wanting to watch every second of it. Do you watch all 300km of Milan San Remo? When do you start watching? Final 50kms? Maybe send a request they just ride the last 50km then?
