Blackmore rode like he belonged there, so chapeau to him. He was never beating either of his companions. It wasn't stupidity, it was a guy racing like he deserved to be raceing, and the bridge he made to get to them was impressive. It's not a loss to him.
if he sits on he won't be dropped on this hill. So yes like with Pedersen it's delusional too pull that much. He could have also won if the race was closed down again and opened later again because he has that good of a sprint. I don't think people would have pulled with Sagan in 2017 in such a situation.

He probably learned a lot more this way than had he stayed in the wheel and tried to steal the win.

Delusional to think he had a chance to beat either of them, in any situation today. Maybe in years to come, but not today. He gets dropped regardless.

I applaud his showing, and his decision to ride like he belonged there, because he did. He just didn't belong on the top 2 steps today.
