And the excuse used is...............................

http://www.scotsman.com/news/former-coach-denies-allan-wells-was-a-doping-cheat-1-3791952

"Mr Walker said Ledingham, who died in 1998, “would not have” given the sprinter drugs, but claimed the doctor had offered to give Wells a placebo to allay concerns the athlete had over others cheating."

PLACEBO ! I think that is a unique one. 10 out of 10 for ingenuity. Far better than "they were for my horse/dog/the mother in law".

See - we told you all along - drugs don't work - it is all in the mind !

I hope Sir Bradley gets a placebo from Sir David's team for this weekend's beating of all those dopers' records. Will Brian Cookson OBE be there to celebrate with them ?

They dope the same as the rest, the case of David Millar or Tiernan Locke is there.
Now dont dope as the rest.

They are more new in road cycling, so maybe are more comitted after all the problems cycling had with doping.

You need help pal if you can't manage a simple post without writing a load of gibberish at the end. What is wrong with you?

A few opinions on the subject of Brits, doping and the BBC:

The 'establishment' has decided that sport is the new 'opium for the people'. It's an artificial means to keep people happy/contented in the face of their repressed lives. What better medium to deliver the 'opiates' than via the British Brainwashing Corporation (BBC). I watched The Breakfast 'news' the other week and pretty much the whole 1/2 hour news cycle was about sport and sports related items, the actual sports news has gradually increased to fill more and more time. Even the music radio channels are reporting on more and more sport (usually the ones the BBC broadcast). Paradoxically, the BBC can afford to broadcast less and less sport due to competition from Sky, BT etc so they (the BBC) overcompensate to a vomit inducing degree with the ones they do show, for example, the Olympics, Tennis, Rugby and Cycling (any themes there clinicians?). The system needs a bunch of world class performances to keep the people happy and they've got em, remember how crap Brits used to be at sport? Well not any more (apart from football  ). It's great: medals for everyone, knighthoods are dished out, money's being made and viewing figures are up, it's a giant sporting love in (watch SPOTY for proof). Of course, a child can see that there's something not quite right. How are we (the Brits) beating those nations who the BBC point the doping finger at? But the response is along the lines of 'Lottery funding trumps EPO and crookedness stops at the English channel'. With large scale corruption being unearthed on a daily basis about the police, the judiciary, the press, banks, politicians etc, why do otherwise sensible people believe that pro sport is all 'jolly hockey sticks' when there are millions of pounds to be made. It's a little bit scary as to how easily people are being hoodwinked. What else are we being lied to about? There's doping going on and while I don't believe it's state sponsored, blind eyes will be turned when appropriate, to maintain the illusion. Nobody wants Olympic legacies or viewing figures to be tainted. Remember, the BBC was where Jimmy Savile worked. The BBC misled the public by broadcasting glowing tributes to him after his death, although key managers knew he had "dark sides" to his personality and dropped a planned Newsnight investigation into his crimes at a children's home! So does anyone think that the BBC will break sweat about ignoring doping in British Sport? Add to this the 'establishment' has a brilliant way of keeping ambitious people in check, it's called the honours system - climb the greasy pole while keeping your mouth shut and you'll get a knighthood. It's a way of deterring people in the know from rocking the boat, a high-class Omerta if you like.

Indeed, they should be smashing it with Dr Steve Peters and Dan Hunt on Board. Think of all those marginal chimp gains they can bamboozle the English Team with.

Fact. Women dope. Whether Armistead dopes or not I don't know, It's worth bearing in mind that this was the British Champs and behind Armistead the standard is pretty woeful. Have a look at the UCI points tally for GB women, it's all her. Trott came second I think and she might be a big cheese on the track and will be bigged up by the media, but she doesn't do much when she ventures outside Britain to road race. So all in all it's not difficult for Armistead to look rather good here.
