How about The breakaway riders get paced by a derny driver riding a Yamaha RD 250.. the bunch doesn't.

Have 170 teams of a maximum of 1 rider per team.

Frequent (about every 20-30km) unadvertised (ie no distance-to-go markers except 1km or 500m?) "sprints" with time bonuses both for each breakaway group and for the peloton.
Some minimum time interval between would have to be defined otherwise they'll all spread out in 1's and everyone will get the same bonus.

This could get kinda interesting, as a team with a good sprinter in a breakaway not too far in front might chase their own man to keep the interval inside the magic number to steal bonuses from other teams, while teams without riders in that break might decide to try to make the gap open. It might require a whole new set of tactics, or else might produce a faster race with more attrition if teams decide the easiest thing is to allow no breakaways at all.

Thought of this as I rode today watching kayaks go by as I fixed a flat. How about on the flat stages near bodies of water, the last 2 k will be done on a raft. The rider has to hook their bikes to wind turbine motors on a raft. The more you spin, the faster you go. The finish line will be on the water.

How about the rafts are roller powered? The riders have to ride on to the rollers, then bunny hop off at the other end before they can sprint for the finish

Teams must ride on the Group Bicycle or I guess the Team Bicycle for the whole stage, how it steers is beyond me but sure will add some excitement/entertainment!

Sorry but this may mess with your head, I am a girl. Basically raised as a tomboy. My brother had more fun than my sister so followed him into sports. Now i hang out with more guys than girls. Wear a dress only for special occasions, wedding, funeral, first date, just spotted a theme there.

Understand sports more than some boys. Actually broke up with a dude who got mad that I watched and did so many sports. Plus he talked about nonsense during the game or event. He never understood that he needed to wait for the commercials! He needed someone to cook and clean for him, that isn't me. Not sure why i need to do either if I can hire a cleaning lady for the house. Go to restaurants or family homes for good home cooked meals. I can cook some, just not every night! I need time for sports and cycling.

Have a unique sense of humor impacted from my mainly male friends.

Holy crap!!!

There are 9 seats on that bike too! I am off to draft up a letter to McQuaid demanding that ALL future TTT's are held on those bikes.

The winner is the first team to complete a set amount of revolutions with time penalties for throwing up and falling off from dizzyness

If they have training wheels they must also have pink glittery streamers coming out of the handlebar ends like the bike I got my 2 year old niece has.

Also could be interesting if they ride bikes that are too small for them. Say switch out like AC does on key stages. Everyone has to get a bike from a rack at 10 k to go. May or may not fit their cleats. Do they spend more time looking thru the rack for a bike with their pedals and closest to their size, or grab one, go and make it work. I remember a photo and story of Jens, I think, riding neutral service bike or fan bike during a race. Looked uncomfortable.
