At least good to see that Gesink is back in business. I was pretty concerned after the Tour. But who knows, he might be able to finish 2nd a few more times to Gilbert in the coming weeks.

Gesink seems to like Francophone Canada. Maybe poutine is his rocket fuel.

Yeah, cause he's a lot faster than Gilbert at the line...

In a sprint like this you never know. Gesink isn't slow in an uphill sprint, last year he almost beat Hagen in the sprint for 2nd place (and he beat Cunego, Duque, Ballan etc)

Gesink is like Tom Simpson. He pushes his pain barrier to insane limits.

Or so it seems. Sometimes it looks like hes barely concious when he crosses the line.

Kind of like when Anquitil said he couldnt remember anything from that duel with Pou Pou.

On the subject of which, this was a duel almost as impressive.

Wow great race again! Quebec even better then last year!

Epic duel between Gilbert and Gesink. Good to see Gesink back in action.

Great race. Impressive that Ciolek managed to hold on that long as well.

Massive fail by Rabobank and Sky. Not beating Gilbert in a one day race. Idiots.

From past threads, I'm sure many on the forum will concur.

WTF WTF

Gesink almost beating The Unbeatable One

Still called losing, I'm afraid.
Gilbert's peak form now officially lasts for one whole year.
Luckily, BMC will get him on the slide.

It´s indeed one of Gesinks skills to suffer like hell. At this years TdF he certainly couldn´t though.

EBH is just completely out of shape since TDF, his wins in eneco and vattenfall were despite his form, not because of it. I knew that Nordhaug has surprisingly been dropping EBH on every training ride lately but hoped that EBH would somehow get his form back before worlds but it doesn't look good. Sky has made him do way too many races, I mean since may he's done picardie, bayern, dauphine, tdf, eneco, vattenfall, plouay and now these 2 races.

Must be honest, really disappointed that Gesink didn't catch "Boring" Gilbert.

Speaking from his experiences with Cuddles, no doubt.

No, I destroyed my voice with shouting... it was something like "come on robert, beat that stupid ****ing belgian, please Robert. Come on... come on, destroy him.. come on.. NOOO **** AGAIN GILBERT. **** HIM"

He's just like Death Mask Sorensen. It also makes him fun to watch I've always thought. The anti-VDB2 one might say :p

2nd behind Gilbert is a result worthy of winning nowadays

Nice race!

Guys like Nyens should do this instead of fudging up the Vuelta TTT and then sucking for three weeks.

Cougar alert on the Radio Canada stream.

Wrong thread. Thanks for ruining that for some of us waiting to watch when we get home.

I'd say a cycling forum isn't the perfect place to hang around when you don't want to know who won a certain cycling race.

That's playing with fire.
