Isn't that slope a bit before the finish line? Isn't there a small stretch of flat after that?

Maybe a false flat... the Copenhagen finish line is sort of halfway up a hill. They could have made it a tougher finish if they wanted to.

Talking about Sky..

Sky and Garmin massively failing today. Working so hard for Gerrans/EBH (Sky) and Hesjedal (Garmin)...and none of them end up in the first group.
Edit: brainfairt, Uran was there!!

Why do I always forget Uran is riding for Sky...jebus christ, talk about brain damage.

You think Gilbert will win even on that course?

I think the way hes ridden this year, Gilbert could probably win the team sprint on the track

Because you are more interested in bashing various teams and settling petty scorers than discussing things like an adult.

A trait you share with 80% of this forum

Good to see Bobby G in form again and pushing Gilbert right to the end. Really good result from Uran. I guess Sky had to get some sort of result with the team they put out, but it does looks like EBH is losing form. As for Phil, what can you say, can't remember anyone ruling the big one day races like he has this year.

You can see a video of the parcours here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeE5aWZY8pE

Ah I was mistaken, finish is actually near the top of that hill.

Many thanks. Indeed it won't be easy for Gilbert to win there.

Just did the race. I see Spartacus pulling it off on a horrible day with strong winds. Bunch of 32 soggy survivors, including few sprinters, hesitating and watching each other too long and Spartacus is off....winning by 7 seconds......followed by a desperate Gilbert, fighting for 2km somewhere between the bunch and Fabian, after Phil tried to follow Spartacus and missed his slipstream just by few moments, and nearly got caught by the bunch.
Greipel wins the bunchsprint while still debating with a loaded Cavendish.

If only Gesink could take this form in the Ardennes classics.

He had his best form in 2008/2009, but then he was younger and generally not as good as now.
Now he peaks wrong all the time.

But hey, even then, best he can do is get 2nd behind Gilbert (or 3rd behind Gilbert and J-Rod). Because if Gilbert is in top-form there is only one thing that can beat him, and that's hiring a sniper.

Wow, you move your houses up there ?
I thought only Dutch people would do that.

Still, a podium at a Monument is not to be snubbed at unless you're family name is Schleck.

I would just hire the great Alejandro Valverde and let him totally focus on the classics and some other races. :D

I'd say a cycling forum isn't the perfect place to hang around when you don't want to know who won a certain cycling race.

That's playing with fire.

You're not mistaken on that. However most of the posters on this forum understand that you shouldn't post spoilers in thread titles or threads for other races as it is frequently the case that there are two races happening at the same time, and some here like to watch and comment on one race while recording the other.

And every once in a while someone doesn't follow these simple guidelines and a gentle reminder is warranted.
