And that was on bad form.

I don't think Phil will win any of the Canadian races because he's not in a decent shape anymore, but Gilbert could definitely do what Gesink did there. Gilbert in April or June form would most likely rape the field at both races any way he wants. I'm actually tipping for a "surprise" Vanendert victory. Surprise in the sense that everyone assumes he'll be working for Phil.
a) that wasn't 10 km.
b) that wasn't 10 seconds.
c) the terrain in Montreal is considerably flatter than that, you can see he's almost caught and only when the road goes up again he can widen the gap.

Montreal really doesn't seem that suited to Gilbert, not even to the April version.

Gesink's victory salute is so lame. Looks like a cheer leader. If he has pom poms in his had he would be great.

how you can compare any victory of Gesink in one day race with Gilbert? he's able to do whatever Gesink does at least twice better!

The manner he wont it in was pretty impressive, considering how many times gilbert has gone over a hill in front to be bridged back says something.

Maybe Gilbert could do the same, it certainly wouldn't surprise me, but that comment just takes away from a really epic performance from gesink.

That was one of the last times I really saw gesink firing on all cylinders :(

On the subject of live coverage, Eurosport International 2 has the same 4 hours as British Eurosport 1 and HD, tonight.
Starts at 18-30CET.
So, if Dim has his usual TSF's feed...............

I could have sworn this had a live feed earlier in the week, but now????
http://www.evasion.tv/

Same for Euro International 2 on Sunday:
18:15
Cycling

once more, Gilbert can do at least twice better! not only the same.
and you have to consider that one Gilbert attack, all the people are scared and try to chatch him as soon as possible. If Gesink get ten meter, the others give him more space...

And they call me nationalistic and biased.

How could you compare TDF with the GP Montreal. Delusional...

btw, play the ball, not the player. This means don't attack the poster and what he likes, attack the argument.

I'm not saying he was superman, it was what it was. A very good ride, when he held onto a small margin from a big name rider, for quite sometime.

lol. ok. I forgot he was the god of cycling etc. I suppose he is also 2x better then ebh, sagan, samu etc too (actualy more, seeing as they couldn't catch gesink)delusional much.
Stupidest post I have seen here in a while, and that is saying a lot. just laughing at the mental image.. "hey it's only gesink let him get up the road, cause in the dying stages of a race letting a rider is logical! if this is gilbert tho, we would eat our spinach and chase extra hard we would!!)

And I guess sou didn't watch the race, cause your comments make no sense in context to what happened.

by your logic, no one may as well turn up to these Canadian races, nor world championships. Heck why do the organizers even bother inviting anyone else.

How could you not notice I was extremely extremely sarcastic? I even added the  emoticon.

About playing the ball, how did I attack you in any way? I just said that I thought it wasnt impressive (eventhough it was.......), how do I involve you in it anyway? Do you personate yourself as Cadel?

Dont see things that arent there...

Don't worry, I think it's ACF's time of the month again ;)

If that is not impressive, what what would be impressive? Cite good examples.

I was about to ask the same thing.

And don't be like, Ardennes > canada races. We all know that. But it had a strong field, strong riders trying to win and a difficult parcours.

I mean off the top of my head -trying to play the ball- I don't see how recent victors of FW, who merely sprint uphill for the last km could be a better victory... Not the caliber of the victory, but the manner in how it was won.

I wonder, is there a single user -if so speak up please- on this forum, thinks if Evans won like that last year, that ACF wouldn't be calling it impressive?

definitly you forgot it!
and, stupid or not, Cancellara say often the same: when he was young he was able to win more race just going the last kms. Now not anymore because they don't give space to him.

I had watch the race, impressive by Gesink, but Gilbert this year did it more times and even when all the others knew that he was going to do it!
did you see San Sebastian? Eneco Tour? Belgian championship?

Ofcourse ACF woudnt of called it impressive, he has specific superlatives to describe Cadel so probably would of used "orgasmic" or sensational.;)
