True, but BMC already have some very strong cobbled classics riders.
Just thinking about that makes me feel all weak in the knees!

auscyclefan94 said:Agreed, I think either George would have to retire or Ballan or Burghardt would have to move teams as they would want to be leaders even though Cancellara is better than them in Roubaix, etc.
Do you know about Eijssen? I have only read that he won a race on the Ax 3 Domaines this year so he must be a climber. Any other info?
Ruxen1989 said:He has said officially (on his homepage) that he is considering to leave Saxo Bank.
And then I often think about next season as well. It is an open secret that other teams are interested in me. I have to say, some interesting suggestions have been made, which would also offer me long-term opportunities for the future, i.e.
beyond cycling. As I am openly communicating with Bjarne Riis, we have of course discussed this situation. I am delighted that Bjarne will come to the Vuelta and that we will be able to talk about our pending tasks.

Frankly, the last sentence makes me belive that he'll stay with SBS. What pending tasks is there for him this fall?
I think it's strange that FC admitting that other teams are interested in him makes everybody think he'll leave.

skecher said:They just stole Phinney from the Shack and gave him a four year contract, that can't have been cheap.
Timmy-loves-Rabo said:meh let's be honest. Their riders are more fit for domestique.
Hincapie is too old.
Burghardt is not really a super force in the cobbles - i understand he loves them, and yeh he won G-W a few years back - but he really isn't a huge contender for the classics imo. AFAIK he has never been in the top ten at P-R. If someone like spartacus or boonen joined, I'm sure any team manager would make him work.
And well Ballan. The guy needs to re-catch his form, he hasn't really showed anything on the cobbles since 2008.

Ruxen1989 said:Riis is ****ED at Cancellara right now. Danish tv2 had an interview with both (seperatly): They were to talk the situation over tonight and when Riis was asked how he felt about Cancellara right now he answered "I'll keep that to my self" looking down in the ground Cancellara was confronted with the fact that he might had to stay because Bjarne wanted too much in payment for him and he answered "we'll see" with a smile
The two of them certainly don't agree
Whoever is going for Cancellara, it gotta be a team with a huge amount of money to do with.

you're refering to I don't see how you can conclude what the "we'll see"-comment is an answer to.
