This reminds me of that Simpsons scene were Otto (high of course) thinks hes flying a helicopter and humming acopolypse now theme when hes actually driving the bus.

Im guessing this is pretty much the same thing. The exhaustion of the tt has made the rider hallucinate. He thinks he is seeing cars fly as he crosses the finishing line on his bike, first.

In reality he is smiling, humming flight of the valkeries while his body is lying on the road and his bike is inches from his body.
