EDIT: I call a Photoshop job on this one.

On the other hand, there are no cols to climb in F1. ;)

It is already being hyped up on the specialized website... ridiculous aero claimes etc etc. It looks like a hyena though and thats kinda ok on small frame sizes. So its just the new top specialized frame... the venge... oh well they couldnt make it sound any more aggressive as well.

I wonder what they think of selling it for...

I read somewhere last night (Velonews maybe?) that the McLaren version frameset module was going to be USD8,000 and the S-Works USD3,800.

So, for all you S-Works owners you are now the proud owners of Specialized second tier frames :)

It looks ugly as hell too.

I have always been a fan of Specialised bikes, the zerts inserts have to be a good thing but I agree about your line on aerodynamics. There is only so much you can do with a pair of wheels with spokes & a human thrashing around in the wind. Anything past (rearwards) the handle bars, cables & flogging wheels will not benefit a great deal from aero shapes.
But McLaren is the ultimate in speed & hype, they are probably good at making carbon fibre things light & strong too. But bloody good at making things very expensive on top of it. I will be sticking with my round Ti tubes & funky retro Campag chorus running gear until I win the lottery. Then it will be an ultralight Ti frame & funky retro Record running gear.

Yeah, I feel the pain. I got my 2011 S-Works frame last Sept. Now it's as outdated as the last cell phone I bought which came out brand new last month, along with my Mac that is nearly prehistoric at this point. Help! I can't keep up!! But I've gotta tell ya, my bike handles like a fighter jet, and being a skier too, I love the way that baby feels at high speed! And the geometry is only minimally different from the Venge, in only a couple of different places. So the Venge ain't going to make me cry too hard( just a little)

Doesn't work for me at all. To me it's so ugly I couldn't imagine buying it. Funny how there's such strong divergence of opinion regarding the looks of the rig.

It seems it's a frame you either love or hate, no in between.

I don't like it, I'm not a fan of any aero frames road frames though. I just don't see the point of them once you put two water bottles on and a rider without aero gear. They can claim all the figures they want in reduced drag they just don't mean much in real world application.

If I were bying an S-Works I would go for the still much stiffer SL3.

If only it were such a bargain! :p
According the VN story:
The regular S-Works Venge will be available by the end of May, and will cost $8,800 with SRAM Red, $9,200 with Shimano Dura-Ace, or $3,800 as a module.

As the name implies, the S-Works+McLaren frame was designed with the McLaren Technology Center...This extra technology will come with a bump in price, though Specialized has not yet nailed down an MSRP. The McLaren version won’t be available until late fall.
One can only wonder what the McLaren version will come in at.

After today's win at San Remo, I would imagine that the Specialized.com server is being pushed to the limit.

I saw somewhere GBP5000, which is an obscene loading for the name, but then Colnago and Bianchi and Ferrari and Ducatti

Anyway looks like they stuffed up because Goss didn't get one of the new rigs, just Cav and his train (Renshaw + Eidsel)

murphy's law. as soon as they announced the new frame and said Cav was gonna ride it in MSR he was not going to win.:D

smart PR people would have given him the frame, said nothing and if he won used the ensuing publicity from the win to promote the new frame. But hey PR people are not the smartest.

Not according to Specialized:
Today, Matt Goss took full advantage of his talents and his S-Works+McLaren Venge, a brand new bike that made its race debut after its global launch at the fabled McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK, on Thursday, just 48 hours before the race started.

For Specialized and McLaren engineers, the day had special significance: the new S-Works + McLaren Venge that Goss rode to victory was the bike they’d collaborated together on over the past year.

There must have been some serious celebrations from the engineering geek squad.

...and when/if he doesn't win? What then?

PR lose, i am laughing at them thinking Cav was gonna win on it and not mentioning Goss had one too. They would never get my $$$s anyway.

PR always claim they win if people talk about the product, but i am sneering, laughing, guffawing and lots of other things that PR dont like.;)
