According to Axelgaard, there's an intermediate group with some strong names in between the breakaway and the peloton. But I'm not sure where he has that info from.

So the group at 45 seconds apparently consists of:

Canal, Cubillas, Donati, Nerurukar, Rafferty, Battistella, De Pretto, Foldager, Deman, Lambrecht, Vandenabelle, Tjøtta, Morgado, Cosnefroy, Silva, Turgis, Meris, Marcellusi, Paletti, Turconi, Stenico, Mintegi, Fernandez, Parra, Hirschi, Donzé and Caicedo.

Then there's the peloton led by Jayco at 1.20.

Doesn't seem like Hatch and Blythe are aware, so I'm not 100% certain this is the actual situation.

I'm considering harassing that podcaster on twitter to see if visma can be convinced to buy him out of contract and get him as a replacement for Yates

He would have a team that actually supports him. If they get him after alula they could put him in a altitude camp and he can lead at Paris nice and pais Vasco like Yates was supposed to. Then go to the vuelta.

He humiliated them at Slovakia so he should be on their radar. Clearly he is no valued at jayxo
